Woah, the best fight at MW who can be done without A.Silva. This is a great fight, and a bad matchup for Maia I think. If Maia can win this, I'll be surprised. I just think that Marquardt will be too big, too strong and much better striker than Maia. I really hope i'm wrong. I hope Maia sub him. What's your thought on this? I feel that a guy like Paul Harris would have a better chance vs Marquartd due to his very good take down and a great BJJ artist himself too. His loss vs Hendo was just a very bad matchup for him and he proved that his chin was iron, he is still young to become better on this feet. Maybe the winner of Maia vs Marquardt will face the winner of Hendo-Bisping.

Dana will never give Nate a rematch nor will he give Okami a rematch. He'd rather give guys with 0% chance to beat him then guys who have the potential to beat him.
This looks like a great fight Maia has looked good so far but this is a big step up, I don't think he can beat Nate.
Maia will beat Nate, ..What is the big deal will marquardt? Silva beat him up to a pulp the first time and couldnt do **** to Anderson on the ground. I remember Almaieda tapping his ass when he was King of Pancrase Marquardt is a big and strong guy but Leites was hitting him flush hahaha. Leites!! FFS! If ever Nate goes to the ground with Maia whether on top or bottom, he'll get choked out or subbed, theres no two ways about it. Maia threw a World Class wrestler Sonnen like a rag doll. I dont know how he could possibly win unless Maia decides to stand the whole way. Im not hating on Nate like I said he is a strong guy maybe hendo is the only one at par at 185. But I just dont see this guy being at the top of 185 when the dust settles.
Come on. Marquardt beat Leites up. Sonnen was totally careless and fought a horrible fight. Lets not forget that Macdonald grappled evenly with Maia for almost three rounds, got out of a RNC and even got Maia's back. Beating Quarry and Sonnen as fast as he did means nothing about how Marquardt will do. I'll be pulling for Marquardt and I think he'll win.
I think you are underrating Marquardt, Chimba. He will be the favorite to beat Maia. Marquardt has evolved a lot, and is a better technician now than he was vs Almeida who is a wizard in BJJ. but yeah, Leites was in way of a great victory before being nearly knocked out cold by that knee. Leites is a GOOD fighter, and an underrated striking game. Of course, not on Silva's level.
Kickass fight now we can start making real fights for Silva at Middleweight. Give him the winner of this while you got Hendo-Bisping winner in the running and maybe even GSP or Vitor Belfort. This is all assuming Silva wants to stay at 185 even if he does defeat Forrest.
LOok at it from this perspective, Id give maia more of a shot to trouble Silva at the moment. Put Maia in Leites position (Silvas guard) and something might happen. And no Nate has not improved fromthe first Silva fight. From the Almeida fight yes.
Yes he improved from the first Silva fight. Very good performance vs Gouveia, whos a very talented guy for the first 2 round. But anyway, I do hope Maia take this by sub again, it would create an excitement for him vs Silva. As good as Leites is in BJJ, he isnt on the level of Maia, and certainly didnt showed in MMA like Maia did. I seriously hope Maia win this.
Maia is the reincarnation of Rikson Gracie, his BJJ is good enough to beat most guys and he wont even need a plan B for this fight.
I take my lumps when I deserve it. I know I picked Goiveia and yes he is talented, but lets be honest, hes not that good. I see that now. Time will prove that Wilson aint that good. All I say is this, this Wand/Anderson Silva is heating up.. MAia is part of the equation since hes Wands new boy. Silva better not let Maia take him down
Good fight, Maia is really tough to figure out. Because hes never been in there with any top guys, but the manner in which hes beaten the people the UFC has put in front of him is impressive to say the least. Id definitely favour Nate simply because I think hes just an overall better fighter than Maia.
