Well he might as well try mate, because asking politely for a fight doesn't seem to be working for him. I can't imagine too many being in front him in terms of being a viable contender for the Commonwealth crown. He's fought better opposition than both Sexton and Chisora, so it's a fight that makes sense. I don't think he's cooling down rapidly at all mate. He's advanced up the WBO rankings to #14. He should have something decent lined up for December.
Ah come on Ip you can't have your cake and eat it , it seems like only yesterday you were telling me how pointless an exercise gaining a Commonwealth title was , now your implying Chisora is ducking Leapia , Alex is fast becoming a member of the "WHO THE **** NEEDS THAT CLUB" agreed but Chisora would bash him up badly IPPs , 14 with the Warren Boxing Org you say ? he is dead in the water mate , most will view him as too dangerous to fight now , gotta wait now until Klitch offers him outside and that will probably be sooner rather than later .:deal
No, it was only yesterday that I was saying that the belt has lost a lot of its relevency because it only gets you a rating with the WBC. If they want to restore the legitimacy of the belt, they'll do it by fighting more Australians and Canucks. As for ducking Chisora, where'd I say that? I think you're reading what you want to mate. I do know that the offer's there for both Sexton and Chisora. Hey, Chisora might bash him, it's not the point. Alex is looking to test himself, fair play to him. As for "too dangerous", I think the opposite is true. Many will see him as a beatable opponent for the ranking. Glass half full and all that.
Bull**** Ipp , Now your man can't get a quality fight down under the Commonwealth title becomes an attractive option , You implied Chisora was ducking Leapia "asking polite " i think your comment was without tracking back , that indicates Leapia has formally asked for a contest with Chisora and Chisora has refused , No ?
But it's fine to start a thread calling one a coward? i know you didn't start it, but how was beck allowed to fight so soon after suffering a previous knock out?, i respect your knowledge Ippy read a lot of your posts on the aussiebox forum as well, i suppose i am a bit biased towards Mark , he use to post on here heaps and never disrespcted anyone. I asked mark about a weight training program a while back on here since i was stuck in a rut with mine so he emailed me his principles of training which i still follow and continue to get results with ( and no sally has nothing to do with roids) the bloke even sent a few follow up emails to ask how i was going with them, so was wrong of me to call blokes **** bags, just hit a nerve when Mark went out of his way and would help anyone if they asked him, then he gets called a coward etc.
Leapai's promoter has been talking with a Heavy of a much higher profile than Chisora. Whether is comes off or not is another question. Read the article Josey, his team have asked to fight Chisora and have heard nothing back.
If I didn't start the thread calling him a coward, what's the relevency to me??? There was something like 4 months between Beck's last loss and his fight with Alex, without looking it up on boxrec. You'll never find a post where I've had a go at Mark De Mori. I've met him a number of times, back when he was based on the Coast. It obviously hit a nerve mate, because I guarantee you Mark would love to have wins over Walker and Beck under his belt right now. I hope it works out really well for him, but Don King sits fighters on a shelf...
And mate, I've got no official role with Alex's team. None what-so-ever. I've made a fight for him and helped put his name out there. I know he's a nice guy and I've known his manager and promoter for a long time, so naturally I'm happy to help out. My views aren't necessarily the views of his team, so don't confuse whatever I'm saying with their views. The fact is that the Commonwealth belt has lost it's prestige. How anyone could argue otherwise is beyond me. The mail I've received from some of the bigger UK promoters is that they're sick of having their fighters defend against each other and African fighters, who are often viewed a cannon fodder. They're wanting to have more Aussies fight for the belt. We'll see if that's what eventuates or not.
Exactly the don King factor when Mark even said he signed with him i thought **** no, Mark use to fight reguarly then once he signed with king he seems to have been shelved, same as what happeend to Kali and briggs., Htmonaro etc need to realise mark can't pick and choose when he is under control of King. i did also make sure i pointed out you didnt start the thread
I rarely watch heavyweight fights but that one is as good a local one as you would get. If meehan is waiting around for another title shot with whoever, why not stay active and get a payday in the mean time?
