if u get past the hate just for a second, if it gives mark 4-6 half decent rounds it is just ok. nobody said it was for the mandatory spot for wlad's titles. it is a fight to keep busy until something better happens.
If it's a good enough option for James Toney on US TV, it'll be good enough for Mark's second fight back in Gladstone. Nothing is signed and sealed anyway.
It was only on US TV because it was James Toney. The opponent was totally irrelevant and performed accordingly, not winning a single round on any of the 3 judge's cards. At least they got to see plenty of Toney though. All 257 pounds of him.
Regardless, it got passed on US television. A promoter needs to submit a card, which gets approved. Like I said, it's good enough for his second fight back. Hasim Rahman's people thought he was good enough 3 fights ago.
why does Mark have to have such a 'major' fight for him in such an obscure setting such as Gladstone. U think he would want to win those titles on home soil???????
is anyone here actually suggesting that mark will have a fight? what? is this a joke thread..? oh, sorry......yeah, my mistake. it is a demoron thread.....
It was on Fox Sports in some US affiliates. Anyone who knows how the US broadcasting system works, this fight would have been shown near midnight only in some US FOX Sports markets as a time filler. The site fees & broadcast would have cost in the 4 figures. This is minor leagues telecast stuff.
Absolutely it's minor league. Regardless, it is what it is. Reed is a reasonable opponent for his second fight back. Interesting to see he's already back in the WBC ratings.
Just curious for all the guys saying this is a 'shite' fight Who should Mark be fighting for his second comeback fight that is a fight that actually can be made for similar money? Curious on who would be a more credible opponent that is either in Aus or who Team MDM could bring down?
I dont think its a **** fight considering what Mark has fought in the past. The much bigger issue to me is his inactivity & erratic fight schedule.
Issue for him to, thats why he now has a new team and trying to string some things together. Nov 2011, March 2012 with a elbow op over Xmas is a good start to getting on the track he has always wanted to be on.
