There's nothing sexy about flogging old guys who are absolutely shot >>> [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoqKFAsAh-8[/ame] Rob Calloway got knocked down in EVERY single ****ing round of that recent fight.
So you keep saying. How does that happen anyway? I thought that there was a 4 knockdown rule in pro fights, where there 4th one ends the fight? As in Demori v Alexander?
3 knockdowns in any one round usually concludes proceedings. However, it depends where the fight takes place. e.g. I travelled to Indonesia with a boxer for IBF Intercontinental title & was advised & rules meeting it was optional. I naturally knocked optional **** on the head.
Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm obviously not sure myself, I just know the Alexander fight was ended after the 4th knockdown. Not because he wasn't able to continue or beat the count or anything, just the 4th knockdown meant it was all over.
Oh dear deMori knocked Alexander down twice in the 2nd round, and a total of 4 times during the fight. But never 3 times in one round, which would have bought about a compulsory stoppage. The referee stopped the fight because he deemed Alexander couldn't continue. Rob Calloway's recent fights are ideal to use as examples of the knockdown rule >>> vs Shannan Briggs Calloway was knocked down 3 times in the 1st round meaning a compulsory stoppage. vs Pawel Kolodziej Calloway was knocked down 4 times. Once in the 1st and 3rd rounds and twice in the 5th. His corner stopped the fight after the 6th round. vs Grigory Drozd Calloway was knocked down 8 times. Once in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th rounds, and twice in the 3rd round. There were no rounds where 3 knockdowns occurred. But the referee stopped the fight after the 8th knockdown because he deemed he couldn't continue. vs Alexander Alekseev Calloway was knocked down twice in the 3rd round. The referee stopped the fight after the 2nd knockdown because he deemed he couldn't continue.
I'm aware when the knockdowns were in the Alexander fight. I was told it was stopped cause it was the forth one, NOT cause the ref thought Alexander was done. Thats what I was trying to seek clarification on cause I had never heard of it either.
Correct. It's entirely up to ref. If he's seen enough....he's seen enough. Any ref that can't see when enough is enough, better have decent insurance cover.
This from Calloway on Boxrec "Thats why I Love this Sport..... We can All say anything we want but if your a Fighter.... Soon "The Talk is Over" & Everyone gets to see who the Best or at least at that time of the Fight Is.............. I Think I am & I'm training Hard to Win.... I lose I retire for Good........ I Win then of course One More....... My Record is 76 Wins 13 losses 2 Draws & 60 KnockOuts...."
Rob Calloway has been talking retirement for years and years. Hopefully he's serious this time, as he's had far too many recent beatings for his own good.
Looks like a win on 17 March might finally get Mark a shot at a top 10 HW. Yet to be confirmed, but know Mark will ready as he has waited his whole life for this. Sexyboxing 2012
