Tyson was far more of a straight forward fighter, minus ring cutting tactics.

Tyson had the faster hands. He was the sharper and shorter puncher. And the better combination puncher.

Of course Dempsey has thrown high volume punch combos in seconds. The Gene Tunney KD is 6 punches in a second and a half, all landing sharp with thudding force.

The Willard fight, when he destroyed a strong giant championship class SHW who possessed murderous power. But this one is a hotly contested area. Both share elite power status, and are top 10s.

I don't know. Tyson is the best early fight aggressive finisher of all time, so he might do more damage. This is a very open ended question.

In summary, Mike Tyson would waste Jack Dempsey.

And I'm not a "size queen" so it's not just that Tyson is bigger. I mean, if it were Mike Weaver or Mike Bent that Dempsey was up against, maybe I'd pick him to win. But Tyson is a level above and he certainly isn't a lumbering Jess Willard (who by the way, would be utterly crushed against any 80's version of Tyson). If this fight were happening tomorrow night and everyone was forced to bet their next month's rent or car payment on the outcome, everyone would put money on Tyson winning via highlight reel KO.

 

Imagine if Tyson got to stand over his opponents and hit them before they got up??? Yikes.
