    Is that Dempsey or Gibbons sparring around 33 seconds of the first video? Whoever it is, that is impressive stuff. A nice blend of defensive maneuvers and crafty inside work. They look at ease in the ring.

    I have to say, I'd have loved to have been a spectator at one of Dempsey's big fights.
    The atmosphere must have been unreal.

    Why did Dempsey fight Gibbons? From what I understand Greb had recently defeated Tommy Gibbons decisively. Typically an athlete wants to fight the best.
    Did Dempsey give a reason?

    Maybe because after the fight, harry went on to fight for the middleweight/light heavyweight title Who knows
