Dempsey and Langford - Power?

    What was the consensus amongst fighters that fought both of them? I know Jim Flynn and Gunboat Smith said Langford hit harder. Any others share their opinion? What do you think? Who hit harder and who was the more dangerous puncher? Hell, while we're at it, who would have won a fight?

    I think that in general terms they are comparable.

    Both of these guys are among the top five heavyweight finishers of all time.

    All well and good, but who hit harder at heavyweight? And for the love of **** can people please stop trying to turn any thread related to Jack Dempsey into an argument?

    Dude, don't get into it, please. Can we just stick to the question at hand and not have another 27 page debate about how overrated Dempsey may or may not be?

    I would rather be punched by langford. I said it in another thread, Both Dempsey and the Rock stand by themselves at 185lb...no fighter at that weight or below can possibly beat those two at there best, nor do any fighter at that weight or below hit as hard as them. Dempseys punching technique is way ahead of his time, and its a big reason why he is such a devastating puncher. langford, the myths and legend stories sound grreat and some of it is probably true, but there is not enough film footage that displays his power...but I doubt it compares to jack dempseys. dempsey got every inch of his body into every knockout punch.
