Nobody will be talking about Wlad in 100 years.
    Dempsey is greater.

    Happy Birthday Wladdy! :party

I've heard compelling cases for both. I think Wlad WILL bump Dempsey outta the top 10 by time his career is finished.

I have Dempsey at 11 and Volo at 15. It's been not much of a past year for him but it's been a pretty damned good last 8 years, all together. If he gets past the Punishing Paisano and takes/gets an actual quality opponent (Povetkin, Pulev, Fury, Arreola) by year's end and wins in normal, dominant fashion he takes another step closer. As it stands, he's been stalled from progressing for a bit with the last few he's signed for. The last heavyweight on my list I've moved him above was Jim Jeffries. I have them at 15 and 16.

Wlad by a long, long, long way. Better resume, more dominant, tougher era, better skills, quicker, far bigger, etc etc etc

Both in the top 15, I could see either guy as high up as #11 as it stands.

I like both. At this point Wlad is greater IMO....because of his dominance

From a historical perspective Dempsey will always be the greater fighter. He's just too established and too much a part of the boxing landscape to ever be dislodged. Career wise I have Wlad ahead based on dominance and longevity. H2H this shouldn't even be a question.

Will Wlad be talked about 100 years from now like Dempseys talked about now?
It's almost been 100 years since Dempsey won the title and he is still talked about.
Dempsey will always be remembered more, lets wait to see if Wlad is better overall career wise when he retires...

Unlikely. He's simply not been fighting in a very memorable era, nor does he bring the sort of raw excitement that (I imagine, from reading about him) Dempsey did in his.

Wlad's going to become more of a Holmes type character, well respected by those in the know, appreciated for his dominance and general abilities, but unlikely to stir the passions of future fans.

H2H he wipes the floor with Dempsey, of course. But perception is an important thing, and when people think of the badasses of boxing, it'll be fighters like Dempsey, Liston, Marciano and co who get talked about, not Wlad.
