    Chalk and cheese.

Most boxing fans know the hw division from John l to wlad, hardly anyone knows the smw division.

Ottke ranked above Joe for a short time, up until.joe beat Mitchell I think, but Joe unified all the titles and will get remembered and almost certainly will go in the hof.

Wlad has sat atop the hw division for 7 years. That will always be remembered. His brother might not be remembered as much and might not make the hof. Wlad is a lock though.

Joe would of been inducted straight away if he hadn't fought nobody's in the UK for so long....Dominance means nothing if its against unranked journeymen and retired cruiserweights.....Wlad will have to take some hard fights in the next few years to be taken seriously or else he will be remembered for bailing when the going got tough.....Wlad is not known to take such risks, especially now.

The majority of his reign has been defending against ranked heavyweights though it's only recently he is fighting no marks. They say he'll fight povetkin next, here's hoping.

With all respect, you don't seem to understand how the IBHOF induction process works.

historical world weightlifting records disprove this theory.

If Wlads dominance automaticaly earns him placement why hasn't Ottke been inducted. Explain that to me?.You have been unable to prove this process of automatic induction...Expain why Wlad should be awarded with the status when he cant generate enough interest to fight on any major networks in the US and the UK? The status is awarded to fighter who gave something to the sport, who left an impact, not to somebody who killed the HW division stone dead.

Ottke is a straw man here, a desperate grasping at any tangent which might salvage your already sunken argument. Wlad generated enough interest to pull down $40 million in 2011. The only way he has killed the division has been by decimating the rankings. Outside of fighting his brother, he is forced to wait for a new generation of contenders to come of age.

Dino, how long have you been a boxing fan? Ottke was never considered a dominant champion. It's a terrible comparison!

And Joe was , who held the worthless WBO belt? That belt was not even required to become undisputed.....Ottke defended the IBF belt for 7 years and was rated above Calazghe....Please explain to me how he was not a dominant champion?

He only made that in 2011 because he insisted on having a cut of the UK PPV money. He needed Haye to give him his biggest fight of his career and to get back on HBO , even if it was just for one night.

From the moment Joe beat lacy he was seen as the dominant force in the division but before then I'm not sure anyone was unless you go back as far as Jones Jr.

It's a matter if perception, ottke was never considered a dominant force, never seen to be a level above the division. He was seen as a protected titlist who received the benefit of the doubt in close decisions. That's why I asked how long you'd followed the sport because anyone who did would remember how little regard ottke was held in.

Wlad is unanimously considered number 1 and he's a huge favourite over anyone who steps in the ring with him. this is a status he has held for the last 7 years. I see how you can make the comparison on paper but anyone who lived through both reigns would realise how far off the comparison is.

    Wladimir Klitschko, by far.

    1. Had a better career than Dempsey. He has been more dominant and didn't sit on his title for 3 years. He didn't duck anyone.

    2. Wlad would KTFO Dempsey.

Lets keep the 'how long have you been watching box' nonsense out of it yeah? Im fully aware of the controversies surrounding Ottke. I made a thread about it last year.................................................You're missing the point about the dominance situation entirely. Janitor is claiming there is mandatory automatic induction for those who have dominated the division. If so ,that would mean Ottke HAS to be inducted.
