He was pounding those balls like a debutante on New Year's Eve.

    It was Golota-esque.

OIf he was dq'd (which he should have), the narrative would have been that he was losing and fouled out.

    Yeah very low.

Also this film is terrifying in HD. the action is crisp but if you try and look at anyones faces, or why their bodies ripple like that... scary.

Obvious low blows. Of the last three rights, all were low. The first two were below the belt but appeared above the groin. The third looked to be into the groin.

It appeared to me as likely that Sharkey was already going down when Dempsey clipped him with that left hook to the chin. On the floor Sharkey was clutching his groin. It looked to be an instinctive reaction to pain. If Sharkey were together enough to fake it, then the left hook did not knock him out.

As for Dempsey, this was dirty fighting at its best. I remember the old-timers advising that when you fouled a guy you should immediately throw a punch to the chin so if he went down, the issue was confused for the referee. This was true of a butt also. Immediately throw a punch to the butted area to explain a possible cut and provide cover.

As Joe Montana said about football, if you aren't cheating you aren't trying. Dempsey did what he had to do and did it well.

One other thing, the first round showed Dempsey could take Sharkey's best punches.

It definitely should have been a DQ win for Sharkey.
