Dempsey Sparring Big Bill Tate Before Williard Fight

SP,what the heck is your point ? Are you saying sir that everytime Dempsey sparred ,maybe a thousand rounds in his career , Dempsey went ALL OUT to flatten every sparring partner, from LWs to HWs ? I hope you are not serious.... I have seen Graziano train dozens of rounds,and scores of ringside bouts, and he looked terrible in his training sessions, cause he had to not go for a ko, just as the much greater Jack Dempsey ,rough and cruel as he was on his sparring partners, HAD to restrain himself from koing his sparmates, so he could get rounds in and get guys to risk sparring with him...And Dempsey after he retired managed young Tony Galento, tough and obstinate..In Stillman's gym one afternoon before Lou Stillman, Ray Arcel and other writers, Galento refused Dempsey's advice and the livid Dempsey took off his shirt ,donned boxing gloves and promptly flattened Tough Tony with a left-hook that Lou Stillman who saw them all, claimed was the hardest single punch he ever saw...Dempsey in sparring was not the Dempsey who entered the ring...For damn sure...

 

My point is the way he fights in this sparring video is the same way he fights Willard. Graziano was nothing more then a brute in the ring,bad footwork,bad ring brain,clumsy,just a tough SOB with a punch,pure street, so you cant compare him to Dempsey
