Evander could not put middleweight out they had to stop it because of a liniment in his eyes but Real Deal KO'd Tyson in his next fight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abfqwcaiTOQ
Maybe he didn't and maybe he didn't .I think the jury is still out on that one and BTW he wasn't knocked cold.
If you are referring to Bobby Czyz I think he quit, the ref examined Holyfield's gloves and their was nothing on them. 1996-05-10 : Evander Holyfield 211 lbs beat Bobby Czyz 211 lbs by RTD at 3:00 in round 5 of 10 Both men scaled 211lbs, pretty big middleweights! Czyz was the reigning WBA Cruiserweight champion and hadn't fought at middleweight for 14 YEARS! Getting kind of desperate aren't you?
Turpin's win over C0ckell was far more impressive than Rocky's, imo. Rocky made a meal of it. (a hog roast by the looks of it). I think Dempsey finishes him more cleanly, Turpin-style, but in 1 or 2 rounds.
Evander could not put middleweight out they had to stop it because of a liniment in his eyes but Real Deal KO'd Tyson in his next fight -Janitor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abfqwcaiTOQ Czyz tired to quit. He was 5'10" fleshy heavyweight who was KO'd two year prior to this fight. He did start out as a middle weight. Holfyfield should have blown Czyz away. Sanders took Czyz out in 2 rounds.
Read what I wrote. Johnson did not give these men title shots. That's what I was talking about. Some quick factsL Johnson beat a 156 pound Langford who was just 20 years old Johnson beat a teenaged Sam McVey twice, and beat him again while he was 20. Jeannette? He was a raw novice with a losing record at times when he fought Johnson. In addition Jeannette claimed to be under 170 pounds. Impressive victories? Nope, Nope nope.
"he wasn't knocked cold" The ringside reports say he was, and came to in his corner and began trying to fight his seconds. Dempsey in his autobiography said he was knocked down four times and his brother threw in the towel. The ringside reports all say he just went down for the count. Dempsey probably had no memory of what happened, My guess is his brother told him the multiple knockdown story and towel bit to make him feel better. The ringside reports can be found on-line at Senya 13 Annals of Boxing History which has the ringside reports of the Deseret Evening News, the Salt Lake Telegram, and the Ogden Standard all from the editions of 2-14-1917
Who has ever said it was a great feat. It is probably Marciano's worst performance on film, but it is still a one-sided fight ending with the opponent helpless and the referee stopping the slaughter. Kitone Lave blew out Don C faster than not only Marciano, but Turpin or Valdes. These things happen. Levi Forte was stopped 16 times in 50 fights, almost the definition of a weak-jawed fighter, but he went the full ten rounds to a decision with George Foreman.
Never Desperate, the point is the deepest Cyz fought in the middleweight division was Musafa Hamsho and he was dominated and he was stopped by light heavyweights but was never floored or hurt by Evander who in his next fight KO'd Mike Tyson add that to my earlier reference to Vicente Rondon who was KO'd as a Middleweight by Bennie Briscoe and Jose Gonzales, then moved up won a Light heavyweight title, unified and was Ko'd in 2 by Bob Foster, then moved up to heavyweight and went the distance with premier Heavyweight puncher Earnie Shavers who was 39-2 and he went the distance then he went the distance with Jose Urtain 40-5-2 Kockel fought well as a heavyweight and beat quite a few big men before the Marciano fight, so like these other men I mention he had better durability at the higher weights
You wanted to know why I had posted the Turpin result and what it proved ? .I'm satisfied that I demonstrated what it proved..
The Ogden Standard says he was counted out so I'll accept that ,I had remembered Jack in his autobiography saying his brother Bernie threw in the towel.:good Not sure what relevance it has to Demspey v ****ell though.:huh
