    Rules: 20 x 20 ring, 15 rounds, 10 point must system.

Ali had some issues with speedy fighters ( Patterson ), and seemed open to the hook ( Dempsey had a great one ), and lacked the power needed to get respect from top level pressure fighters ( Frazier ).

    What are Jack's chances?

Ali could outbox him but this would not be easy Dempsey had fast hands and a great left hook better than Coopers and a shorter quicker version than Frazier's. 15 rounds may favor Ali but Dempsey had 2 hands, a great right hand as well so not an easy fight IMO for him

The best Ali could win a decision and the Best Dempsey could have Ali on his ass

Hobo, tiger, dancer's legs, Toledo, left hook, ride the rails…

    Mix, rinse, repeat.

Dempsey would stop the vastly over-rated Ali.

Ali would beat Dempsey. Would be a very tough fight for him but his speed size and toughness would see him through some very rocky moments.

    Ali by clear UD.

Who stops Ali in the first third of a fight? What chance does Dempsey have if he doesn't?

I would bet the house on Ali.

Dempsey would give Ali fits with the tempo of his attack. Ultimately though, Ali would be too fast of hand, racking up the points on his way to a decision victory.

Dempsey provides a lot of stylistic problems for Ali, so I think he would have a fair chance.

Overall however, I don’t think he applied the sustained pressure of a Joe Frazier, and this likely allows Ali to survive the early rounds and take control.

I would bet on Ali in his prime against anyone

    Too slick for Dempsey

    Easy decision to be honest

It would be an even more 1 sided version of Tunney-Dempsey, with probably a mid to late round stoppage.

people bring up cooper for landing one punch on a green Ali with not even 20 fights

sure, Ali beat Liston in the very next fight, but even at that stage Ali was far from a finished product which is pretty crazy to comprehend

the Cleveland Williams 1966 version of Ali would not get touched by Cooper. Henry was TKOd in the rematch just like in the first fight

I agree with these points. The counterpoint is Dempsey was dangerous with both hands whereas Frazier was not.
