Who wins peak for peak? Does Cooney spark him or does Dempsey do him like he did Willard?

I suppose there is a chance Dempsey gets caught & KO’d rushing forward, but that’s all I could say for Cooney. There’s nothing to really justify him as favourite. Dempsey’s entirely out of his class, frankly.

Gerry's way too slow, doesn't have punch resistance, can't clinch, and had little physical strength for an athlete of his size.

Not hooking with a hooker favors Dempsey here, as his was far too fast, and could clearly reach Gerry's head. Jack's body wouldn't present much of a target for Cooney either.

    Over within one.

Ray Arcel told Dick Cavett's television aufience in the 1970s that he thought Dempsey could beat all the other heavyweights. He saw just about everyone beginning in the late 1910s
