I don't know.. On the surface Moorer seems like a winnable match for Dempsey who was a brutal slugger and quick of both hand and foot. And his fame certainly dwarf's Moorer's legacy. But Michael was a skilled boxer-puncher with a south paw stance, fast hands, big punch and some intangibles.. They also fought in drastically different eras.. Moorer's chin was definitely vulnerable but calling him " glass chinned" is overstated in my opinion. He took big direct shots from Holyfield, Cooper, Stewart and Bonecrusher among others and even got up off the deck to win some of those fights.. And he hurt a lot of big men. It doesn't take much imagination to think of what his power might do to a 188 lbs fighter who was knocked out of the ring by Luis Firpo and KO'd by Fireman Flynn..
When your only two knockout defeats are against two of the hardest punchers the sports seen, i.e Foreman and Tua it's surprising to see him get under sold so frequently. I'd make Demspey favourite, but it would be no massacre
Exactly, or the shots that landed, bing, bing, bing,..on Gene Tunney's jaw, that sent the rock chinned Marine to the canvas,...or the one that ended the evening for Jack Sharkey....it's Moorer's CHIN!!! He couldn't take a shot from Dempsey....
Yeah.. Moorer may not have the chin of a Chuvalo, Mercer or McCall but he's survived plenty of big shots from legitimately hard hitting heavyweights.
