    Both were great fighters! On my all time Heavyweights List I rank Jack Dempsey three spots above Rocky Marciano.

    Let's see.

    Marciano- Undefeated with six wins over four ATG fighters.

    Dempsey- Didn't fight Wills, Godfrey, Greb, Siki, Langford, and climbed out of the ring against Jeanette

    Pretty clearly Marciano.

    Langford was washed up,
    Siki was never a factor.
    The Jeannette debacle was an opponent being switched to ambush Dempsey in a charity event in which Jack was giving his services for free.
    Godfrey turned pro in December 1919 the year Dempsey won the title, which win on his record during Dempsey's title reign would have justified him getting a title shot?
