What i am saying is you have copied and pasted the article from that link.....i suppose you now claim to be Paul Daley from that website as well?

Off to work now but will expose you some more over the coming days.

    Dempsey early, Marciano late.

    That's my epic ****ysis. ;)

Don't see this going to the judges.

Dempsey got hurt by rights from Brennan, Carpentier and Firpo. Marciano would take Dempsey's head off.

I can't help feeling likewise that Marciano has a clear advantage in chin. Whether that's enough to stand up to Dempsey's cannonades is another debate. This would be a gruesome fight.

Marciano never left his chin out to dry in the same way Dempsey did so while he could be hit he wouldn't be as vulnerable as he'd be in a better defensive position and be ready to counter.

That's the problem with evaluating Marciano. He looks so darn awkward and clumsy, that the viewer often doesn't notice that he's pretty hard to tag cleanly. If I had to bet, I'd put it on Rocky, but wouldn't be surprised if Dempsey took it.

My personal opinion is that Marciano would be most troubled by big clinchers and that Dempsey would struggle with straight punching, hard technical hitters.

Neither is really stylistically out-and-out each other's nemesis.

This may be accurate, but sportswriters always have a sweet spot for athletes from their era. 1960s Sportswriters would tell you now how 160 lb. Roger Maris would have hit 900 home runs today, or Jim Brown would hop out of a time machine and run for 2,000 yards.

Fans are like this too. They feel that their era being superior somehow validates them.

I grew up in the Ali era, but the Klitschkos would both beat him. There were just too big, and if big didn't matter....we wouldn't have weight classes.

Langford wanted to fight Dempsey when he was blind, and Tex Rickard nixed the fight as "too risky", so Langford is doubtful.

I grew up in Tyson but I don't overrate him.

I think you are confusing this with stupidity. its stupid to think the Ks beat ali because they are a little bigger.

They're big with skills. That's the kicker.

Yes you're right, and it's stupid to think Hagler beats Duran, or Monzon beats Napoles, or Salvador Sanchez beats Gomez for that reason...

    Oh wait, they did.

I get your point, but it seems less simplistic at the higher weights. There have been many cases of smallish heavyweights beating huge ones, maybe because it's extremely rare for the giants to have top notch speed and accuracy. How many great supersized heavies have there been?

He got staggered. Which boxer hasn't been?

Those Carpentier rights were hard, but it didn't effect Jacks ability to fight at all. He ate them up and spit them out.

People can say Dempsey has the quicker hands, which he does.

But he's also the more hittable. Whilst he has exquisite defence he doesn't always utilise it. Rocky has a lesser defence but is very consistent with it.

When Dempsey is throwing 5 or 6 punch combos Rocky will be throwing back. He isn't going to retreat in a shell.

If Dempsey comes at Rocky square on looking for blood as he did with Firpo, he gets counted out very quickly.

He would need to fight as he did against Willard. Cautious of power, utilising hand and foot speed to escape danger.

No way on earth does Demosey bomb Jack out, but if he fights disciplined he can outbox him because he has a speed advantage and the power to earn respect.

So prime for prime I'm taking Dempsey on points, if Rocky drags him into an exchange the Rock takes home a stoppage win.
