Dempsey by early KO he would swarm Norton early and Norton would freeze under the onslaught and be stopped within 3 rounds.

Dempsey Fan Fiction ranks only second to Marciano Fan Fiction. Stunningly imaginative and leadenly predictable.

Liston fan fiction rates even above these two, highest level of fan fiction with crew and paroles that attack everyone who say anything that they don't like.

Dempsey catches him and stops him .... there are many would have, could have with Dempsey but I feel at his worst he was very tough, very fast and a huge two handed windmill and Norton lacked the chin ...

Ken was a very tough opponent for any out boxer. Unfortunately, for Ken, Dempsey was NOT an out boxer; he was a ferocious killer when an opponent came at him (which Norton would have). This would not have gone well for Ken.

207 pound Ken Norton was one month short of turning 27 when 188 pound 6'4" Venezuelan string bean Jose Luis Garcia decked him in the opening round and beat the daylights out of Kenny right when Norton was at his physical athletic prime.

Dempsey, also officially at 188 for the 6'5' 245 pound Willard was more densely packed and muscular at 6'1" and he literally wrote the book on punching with power, a guide which remains compulsory reading.

The only question here is whether or not Jack wipes Ken out faster than the vastly inferior Cooney. But Ken, by far the slowest starting of any heavyweight title claimant, has no potential for getting beyond the opening three minutes, and he had no potential for hurting Jack with his ridiculously overrated power either.

Ken was decked around 15 times, all except by LeDoux within the opening three rounds. Those opening three rounds were Jack's specialty, although he certainly showed he could win clearly over the Championship Distance against a legend, carry knockout power to the body over 12 rounds, and Willard, the otherwise never stopped Miske in three, Battling Levinski was counted out in three by the Mauler (only peak Carp would later ever do this to Bat in four), Fulton in 23 seconds of course, bounced Firpo nine times like a basketball in under four minutes. (Firpo would've destroyed Norton also.)
