    Set in Dempsey's time,is there any way you can see Patterson winning this fight?

    Much as I love Floyd i ain't seeing him surviving the maulers hardest shots.

    I think Jack Dempsey is better maybe with a late TKO victory or by UD

    Dempsey is just as big a puncher as Johansson but better defensively, quicker on his feet and has a better left hand. Dempsey by tko 6 even though Patterson may stun or knock him down.

    Absolutely.
    Floyd has that hand speed too, he could catch Dempsey coming in.

    I see Him stopping Floyd around the 9 th.
    Patterson s the more modern style and refined, but it's Jack's pure power, aggression and speed for me that wins it.

    I agree with you although I think late career Patterson could be competitive.

    While I believe Dempsey would stop him, Floyd's hand speed could be a problem,,,,for only a while.

    I think Floyd waxes him in 3. Jack never fought a guy so disciplined, so quick, with such a devastating left hook.

    Not quite as good as Flynn, but yeah 3. Dempsey never faced that level of athleticism.

    Naa Dempsey s relentless aggression and power combined with Floyd s vulnerability would wipe out any advantage Patterson carried in with him.

    Reckless aggression against low skill operators or smaller guys who can't hurt you isn't the same as doing so against a fairly modern heavy with some of the quickest hands the division ever saw.

    I fancy Floyd in a short, explosive fight. Dempsey was not invulnerable and Patterson might well have been his Kryptonite. Fast paced fight with both men wobbled before Floyd overwhelms Jack with multiple knockdowns before halfway...

    Power and speed is power and speed.
    He's still gonna be catching Floyd.
    There's more chance of Jack stopping him than the other way round.
    This would be a prime fit Dempsey, and also who's to say that Floyd's inner critic has him fearing the snarling killing machine opposite him?

    A prime and fit Dempsey who looked great beating up slowtwitch farmhands and circus freaks. Big difference in fighting an athletic, professionally groomed boxer.
