Yes how would they know if he was faster than Jerry? We are talking prime for prime, Good matchup ok, Yet Jerry was pretty damn rapid, and when he was slugging for a knockout at that.

Quarry for heavyweights and beat them. Dempsey fought for the most part middleweights, light heavyweights and cruiserweights. The guys who were "heavyweights" by modern standards were a joke. Basic combinations like people throw now were unheard of back then. A guy like Foreman who people called sloppy has SSR level of skills compared to the guys back then.

If boxing is too hard for you to understand then maybe pick a easier sport to follow. I know you think if you watch boxing it will make you feel like a man but your level of boxing knowledge just makes you look like a fool.

Best Dempsey I would say was vs Willard. I say this because Dempsey himself stated he was at his very peak for that bout. Secondly the greatest boxing trainer, Ray Arcel, also felt this bout was Dempsey at his physical best. Arcel had watched Dempsey live since his NY debut vs John Lester Johnson. Dempsey had unusually powerful blows. Willard showed how his cheekbone was still cracked decades after that bout. Sharkey was also adamant that not only did Dempsey hit harder than Joe Louis but in addition he stated that "he never thought anyone could hit that hard". The combination of Quarry's willingness to mix it up and Dempseys one punch ko power in both fists makes this a very short night for Quarry.

I haveta say , Legends seem to be alot better than they really are, after you see who they have beaten! Dempsey was not going to fight Harry Wills! Quarry's entire record is Harry Wills!

Dempsey's opposition is nowhere close to THE CALIBER of Jerry Quarry opponents!
And people do not "get i!" -HEY Jack Dempsey? oh he'll knock out the likes of Quarry in one round!-REALLY?
