Well this and the Foster thread prove one thing.

Jack Dempsey is the most under rated fighter on this forum today and not by a small margin.

His most vociferous critics are starting to make some of the Rocky Marciano haters seem like reasonable people.

To hear then talk, it is hard to see how Dempsey ever won a fight.

FFS.. Janitor, Dempsey may have talked about a 'left jab'... but, in what context?? I do not see Dempsey out jabbing the miniature Carpentier. In fact, I see him trying to walk trough Carpentiers jab.. being bombed with the full weight of a French LH/W's right hand and semi-concussed..

If Dempsey had such a great jab, it didn't show against Brennan... or Tunney.. or Sharkey..

You probably believe that Randy Turpin would KO Dempsey inside of 2.

 

See Dempsey-Firpo for this one. at people saying shavers would destroy him etc.... Almost any fighter who came to meet Jack got slaughtered. Shavers isn't special enough of a slugger to eke out a win.
