    whoa!!!!!

I have never seen anything like this before!! Incredible find my good friend. Check out the clarity of Dempsey hitting Willard with four haymakers in a single combo as he knocks him down for the first time. Look at the bounce in Dempsey's step! This is by far the clearest version of this fight I have ever seen, and what a treat!

Can you please post some other old fights from this website?? Thanks man. And again, great find.

You've got to give it to Willard. He sure can take an ass beating. Most heavyweights today if they got hit with what Willard got hit with they would be out cold or retiring after the 1st round, not taking a pounding for 4 rounds. Credit to Dempsey for a ferocious nonstop attack and for being able to avoid punches from a big man and also being able to work his way out of clinches against a guy with a big reach, something very few fighters today know how to do.

Man, Willard looks markedly more stiff in this footage than he does against Johnson. His lower back just looks tight, providing no leverage on his punches or mobility of any kind. I guess they didn't know much about yoga, core strength or stretching in those days. Either way, I suspect it lessened both his power and mobility.

Well they didn't do yoga (but how many fighters today do that?) But they did stretch and do plenty of floor exercises.

Willard is a crazy guy for smiling after that first knockdown. He sure wasn't smiling by the time the round was over though.

I read that Dempsey has a brick in his gloves..anyway Primo Carnera would outpointd Willard without struggling.

At work at the minute and the work computers won't allow me to view vids - can't wait to see this when I get home - I found a load of videos on a site last nite that I was going to post a link to - i think it was something like ITNSource.com i think which had loads of newsreel footage - tons of stuff I'd never seen before - will have a look later and confirm the site address - and i will have a look at the stuff posted here too

    peace

A brick, how the hell do you hide a brick in a glove?

It was allegedly a Railroad Tie, and if Dempsey did have loaded gloves then his hands and Willards chin are the hardest substance known to man
