People are dismissing him because he's another Doordash Driver on ajs record, but this time ajs vulnerable and has no confidence. McKean may be a bum but aj has lost to a fat pizza hut worker on 2 weeks notice so someone like McKean always has a chance

He's 6'6, young, undefeated and a southpaw. This has an upset written all over it. Aj wont know what to do in the ring. He'll outbox, school, and humiliate the bodybuilder into retirement.

They picked this because they know AJ won't lose. I've never even heard of the guy he's fighting.

    No.

Dempsey McKean is no bum, he's not a bad fighter, but he's not a top 25 heavyweight. Many UK heavyweights have sparred with him, they know him well. He's been carefully chosen, Wallin wanted the fight but was seen as too much of a risk.

Joshua will win, I'm sure of it.

He is a sparring partner and spartners come to lose because they've already lost in sparring.

Doesn't really have a punchers chance. AJ will chin him.

I'd be surprised if McKean lasted 4 rounds tbh.

Looks like the plan may be to take McKean out just so AJ can get his groove back and then they’ll step it up with a guy like Wallin next. If AJ plans to keep fighting we’ll see him attempt to get his straps back.

Or they are taking him on a world tour to cash him out. Here's a more cynical take on it:

    2023
McKean in Australia in March (strong Australian undercard)
Then Zhang in China in the summer.
Finally rematch with Whyte in the UK late in the year.

    2024
Joshua might then finally fight Fury.
And if he loses that he can still fight Wilder for one final pay day.

We don't know if McKean is a bum or not until he steps up. At this time we just know he is a prospect.

Man AJ should jump right back in the scene and fight someone like Joyce or Wilder. I may be saying this from a fan's pov, but I want to see AJ fight any of the top guys, except Fury and Usyk. If Joshua improved after the 1st Ruiz fight, then improved again after the 1st Usyk fight, and continues to do so now in training, then NOW is the time for him to go all out and go after everyone and do it a lot lol! I want more fights between top competitors.

I reckon undefeated doesn't mean much in our times.

It means a massive payday against the biggest cash cow in the business. That's something.
