Been watching some video of Denis Boytsov. It seems that he is a very good all around boxer very good defense and can both lead and counter on offense. good size 6′ 1″ and about 220 lbs. 23 years old 26 (21)-0-0. He has some good wins already. From what I am seeing I think he has a bright future in the heavyweight division.
Excellent prospect/contender. He just needs to wait out Vitali retiring and not get into the ring with him. He can be a title holder and likely will be if he is handled correctly.
A little undersized at only 6'1 but his power and handspeed help balance that out. Chin is probably the 1 true unknown. I don't think it's bad and haven't seen anything that would suggest that but we won't know for sure till he fights a true heavyweight banger. He needs to beat a legit top 10 guy before he gets with reach of a title shot, i just hope his team don't slow down his progress. He needs to step it up now. He had some back problems when he was younger but it seems to be behind him. I think he's perhaps the brightest hope post Klychko's for the division. Boytsov, Povetkin, Haye, maybe Adamek, maybe Pulev, maybe Solis I personally like Pulev and Boytsov to be at the top of the heap. What fights have you seen of his btw?
oh man i'd love to see haye duck the klit bros which i know he will... hold on to that wba then get blasted by denis boytsov the f outta the division. :happy:happy
His handspeed really is remarkable and while his power was always evident his last fight vs Gavern really proved it. He dropped him 7 times and Gavern had never been stopped. WBO WBA IBF all have him at 4 or 5. No way does he get a shot at Haye though. Ruiz and Meehan are above him + Valuev. Haye's people would never let it happen.
actually ur right bout that no way haye's cats would allow the fight to happen. man it would be something seeing denis put haye on dreamstreet tho wouldnt it? lol:bbb
lol ya, Haye would throw his looping haymakers and Boytsov would step inside with his tight quick upjab, hooks & uppercuts & take unhindge Haye's jawbone from his face.
He's a boxer/puncher, but boxes too much. With his size he shouldn't be plotting towards his opponents, he needs to have fast foot-speed and cut the ring. He needs to be multi-dimensional, his defense needs a whole new reform, maybe the peek-a-boo stance.
The last 3 or 4 fights i think he's been figuring out his style better. Before that he seemed to try to box too much for a period of time and he's getting back to his strengths now. He does have okay head movement when coming in and is okay at using a bit of lateral movement to open up punching oppertunities. He defenitly needs to keep improving on these things though.
