Some websites in Eastern Europe are reporting the WBO has decided on a final eliminator between Denis Boytsov and Christian Hammer, to happen in September or October. There is a report on an American boxing website the fight will just be for the WBO European heavyweight title.
It's not happening on September 21. Chisora announced a fight with Boytsov for Sep 21 on Facebook about a week ago, but then Boytsov said he's not fighting Chisora on that date. Boytsov said he may fight Chisora in December or January. But I think if a fight with Hammer is a WBO final eliminator, Chisora-Boytsov is unlikely to ever happen.
Without sounding dismissive, but how on earth is that a final eliminator? Boytsov has a lot of rust to shake off, and he is still young enough to be developed without being thrown at Wladimir in two fights.
If this is true Boytsov and the WBO is controlled by Wlad. CHristian Hammer??? Give me a fuc*ing break. Boxing is so corrupt.
Denis turned down a fight with Fury too. He will never fight a fight that fans care about. He wants to coast and cash out. **** Him. We waited 9 years for this **** to fight someone and nothing.
Boystoy turned out to be one of the biggest dissapointments in the division from the last couple of years. Used to be a fan of his early accomplishments, but he hasn't faced a life body in over 4 years now. He has become the Euro version of Wilder, a Euro-bum basher and a Ameri-can crusher.
Cant even compare. Boytsov's best opponent is who? Maddalone? Boytsov is far worse than Wilder. Boytsov been fighting for nearly 10 years and has fought no one.
He fought Pala and Bidenko when they still were considered dangerous and were pretty high ranked. Wilder has fought nobody that was as highly ranked as Bidenko at the time.
What was disappointing was his injuries and promoter. Boytsov is being taken care of properly now. We'll see what he can amount to if he stays free of injuries.
Pish posh. Coming off brutal knockouts of Larsen & Nesterenko? :bart They should be the #1 and #2 contenders respectively.
Hammer beat Larsen more decisively than Odlanier Solis did, yet no one would complain if fat Solis was in a WBO final eliminator.
