This fails to inspire. It's crazy how slow Boytsov's team is moving him along.

Yeah, it's clear Boystov won't go anyway, sadly. He should be fighting top 20 fighters by now. Heavyweights can't get away with fighting 40 or so fights before fighting contenders these days, it doesn't work like that. And when you consider Boystov's amateur career.....if his management thought anything of him, he would have been given a genuine challenge by now.

It's obvious that he's got the tools and the God-given ability. I think it's just an abundance of caution. He's still really young. Maybe they're waiting for Wlad to reach his sell-by date before Denis contends for some straps. It's frustrating for the fans though.

That was 9 years ago though, more recently he's lost to both Bidenko and Dimitrenko who are solid European fighters moving up in the division so it should be a good indication of where he's at.

I've not a lot of Boytsov though, in fact I've only seen a highlight reel so I don't know alot about him, all I could tell was that he looks to have great power, his straight right in particularly, a good body attack and that he's pretty aggressive and leaves his chin a bit open on the inside.

Must also note that the guy has also lost to one Tomasz Bonin...

He's 22 years old give him a break. His oppontant lost to Ruiz 9 years ago and lately has went the distance with solid fighters, there's no point throwing Boystov to the wolves when he is so young and has time to develop.

He went the distnace with Bonin, Dimitrenko, Levin, Smith and a young Maskaev........ He's a guy thats gonna be around for a while.. If Boytsov can stop him, it would be good for him....

I think guys like Povetkin and Solis have set the bar kinda high... They're starting or in Povetkins case started their career moving up at a fast rate... Now we expect every heavyweight with a good amateur background to do the same... It's all about whos backing u... But this is a decent test for him...

I agree with you about Povetkin and Solis setting the standards highly, and not all others can match that.

They were two extrordinary talents on the amateur stage, winning golds at World Championships and Olympics for example, while Boytsov never achieved this so it's logical that he needs more time to adjust to the professional game.

And Povetkin should of taken a little bit more time to get used to the pro game before fighting the number 1 fighter.

The kid is only 22. He's a baby in heavyweight terms. Chill out

Back in 99. Ruiz was on a string of TKO wins back then. Ruiz also stopped Oquendo, so would you be complaining if Boytsov fought him? Ruiz isn't exactly a bum anyway, he's a top 10 heavy.

That's his only TKO/KO loss in 8 defeats anyway, he's been the distance with Maskaev and more recently Dimitrenko and Bidenko, so what's your problem?
