Nice to see this fight taking place. This is exactly the type of fight we need to see at 168. We need to find out who's going to be around to stop the US middleweights in the future.

    sean, about Inkin:

"a few pointers of dennis inkin if it helps.
    he is about 6.0
    fights strictly orthodox
    wiry and stong build
    average handspeed only
very much a counterpuncher and does not like having to chase.
lacks head movement and picks them of on the arms or with a subtle shift but nothing exageratted
good power in the right hand and nice left hook.
does corner quite well although with minimal effort more anticipation and experience than foot speed.
lacks handspeed and is pedestrian in this aspect for a top ten fighter.
lacks a little variety on offense.
chin is ok but has not been tested to the full as a pro
opposition has been weak, not himself but because his backers do not want to put uip the money to get him big fights.
very composed in the ring and does not waste hardly anything.

fights i have seen full or highlights, most probably seen a few more but these are all that spring to mind.
    veit/duma/nagy/mashamaite/vasquez/sobot/dziarra
were against an ecletic bunch of styles and he coped well .

speedy mashamite and long and tall veit gave him the most trouble although he always looked like he would win.

nagy last time out was a stocky agressive fighter who he counterpunched and timed with ease.

dziarra a bull of a man he handled with ease and the vasquez win looks good on paper but vasquez was faded .

inkin is a good all around fighter with speed of hand being his main flaw/good all around technical abilty both on offense and defense.

IMO decent all around fighter but is susceptible definatly to speed ,and power we will have to wait and see.

he will fall short v elite but other than that he is in the mix.
he is good enough to take advantage of froch`s mistakes"

    ------------------------------------------------------------

    Thanks, again, sean!:thumbsup

Watched Inkin v. Duma, and I wasn't very impressed...yeah, Inkin is not great when he has to chase a runner - an this guy Duma was jogging at quite a pace, but Inkin's footwork and ring generalship weren't great, his stamina and strength were not impressive...

He will be very well matched style-wise for Froch, but if Froch can walk through those punches and buzz him, I can see Inkin folding. He didn't show much ambition or heart or passion in that fight...maybe I am being too harsh...but then, Froch isn't that great either...big difference between Inkin and Froch and Joe and Mikkel

First impression of a full Inkin fight...

I am worried that Inkin's opposition wasn't good enough to allow him to prepare against Froch.

At the moment, if I had to bet the house here and now, I would give it to Froch, just...need to see more of Inkin though...

Inkin is promoted by a german promoter right? Because it would be an issue if the fight takes place in Germany.

First ever post so be gentle!

Watched Inkin Vs Duma on eurosport earlier in the year - not impressed - slow - stammina was not there. I think Froch will win this - or in Frochs words 'I will smoke his boots'

I see a close decision in favor of Froch...but wait, Inkin is fighting this weekend, so I might change my mind on Sunday...

And i haven't seen much about them but i take the technically better boxer over the puncher, so Inkin by decision, especially if the fight is in Germany.

    Welcome to ESB! :good

    Thank you for your contribution!

The fight you mentioned was not one of Inkin's best...but I agree - he didn't look like a world-beater in that one.

So you joined the freakshow which goes by the name of ESB, well done :good .

And you are right about Inkins encounter with Duma, it was absolutley a waste of time and a bad showing by the Russian - he is somewhat flat-footed and don't cut the ring that well...but it also had something to do with his determination and motivation in that fight...let's wait till Sunday, he might give us another impression - maybe an improvement...

Inkin sounds a bit like Andreas Kotelnik from what I've read. Froch will only be beaten by the very best(Calzaghe,MAYBE Kessler) and as Inkin doesn't appear to fall into that elite category I pick Froch by vicious stoppage
