    Too early for Gassiev he is not ready for Lebedev. He should have fought at least one top 15 cruiser before facing Denis.

    Was supposed to fight Dorticos last year but it fell through.
    To be honest it's worth the risk for 2 belts!

    He's still got the WBA strap and has to fight the winner of shumenov-Dorticos, which are both winnable fights for him imo.

    :borra2::borra2::baloon::thumbup::thumbup:

    WAR THE WHITE SWAN! Remember all denis is old, and for part of the mid noughties was completely gone from boxing, HIS PRIME. He then comes back to beat some bigger younger men, beats huck, but gets jobbed in germany, goes to toe to toe with guillermo the roid king jones, who looks about 220lbs in the ring, and a ghastly injury that would put off alot of tough fighters, he continues fighting. He then goes onto beat kalenga a big tough cruiser, ramirez a tough come foward fighter. His KO highlight reel is immense, His heart was always on show, freddie got him using angles and boxing skills lately, he looked with a new lease of life, but gassiev was a damaging puncher and that body shot really changed the fight, where normally denis' straight left would stun or keep his opponent gunshy, all sting was taken out and murat charged foward and he deserved the decision. :coleman:

    And ive been a fan of lebedev for years, he really has been a staple in the cruiserweight division for the last decade, you couldnt mention anyname in the 200lb bracket without saying denis' name. quality fighter, good man. Good luck to Him. Remember he wasnt beaten to death here, but he could have been, such is the heart of the man, he didnt give in!

    Love Lebedev, at least he didn't get cheated or knocked out.

    Always will support him.

    He tried his best here today.

    I just watched that fight for pure enjoyment purposes but I thought Lebedev could have won. There is no way Gassiev won 8 rounds like two of the judges scored.

    And why does he still have that loss to Jones on his record? He failed a drug test yet still gets to keep the win while Povetkin does not even fail a drug test and they damn near put him in front of a firing squad.

    It was a very close fight. Like I said, I didn't even attempt to try and score it but there were definitely a few rounds people scored for Gassiev that I felt Lebedev edged on workrate. I like both guys so either way I was going to feel happy for the winner and sad for the loser.

    I rooted for Lebedev but scored the fight for Gassiev.However, you re right in saying that it was a close fight which could really have gone either way.
    Time for Lebedev to say goodbye IMO.Sure,he is still one of the best cruisers out there,and he foru sure is no underdog against the likes of Shumenov or Dorticas.I very much hope that fights the winner of that pair and then retires.He has had a great career and was the very best cruiser weight on this planet for a very short period of time.However,he has had too many wars and I for one wouldnt like him to rematch Gassiev.
    Anyway! I take my hat off to him for his big heart and courageous performance against Gassiev! A true champ IMO!
