Yeah at one point he was calling his nonfamous opponents "some nobody". Very cocky and disrespectful. I somehow think he was advised to pick up the villain role in the rebuilding of his career post-Adonis. He was the villain in the movie too right? I didn't watch it but I remember him being a punk in the movie trailer.
Ok apologies if I was wrong mate, just think you are being more personal than using your boxing head on Bellew, had the pleasure of meeting him quite a few times, good lad, ducks no one Not the most skilled fighter by any means but works hard, does loads for charity, humble family man, it seems only negative stuff gets highlighted on him. Agreed on Khan, cant stand him. Fury grew on me, mainly down to his interviews on IFLTV, honest lad, and what surprised me was his boxing knowledge. :good
Yeah, the first encounter with Chilemba was extremely close, most thought he was fortunate, and yet in the rematch buildup he scoffed at it as though he were in a different class and had schooled Golden Boy. ...and his attitude toward Cleverly boiled down to just petty, jealous hatred. (and he wasn't too gracious in victory despite it being a narrow SD, if memory serves)
:good I'm using my head in this case though the CW division is full of killers and most of them are incredibly skilled like Denis, Glowacki, Drozd, Usyk, Mchunu, Briedis, Diablo and even Huck to a certain extent, I even see Shumenov under Salas as being problematic for him. He may be a great guy but he needs to showcase that side of his personality a bit more than the side which most of us are exposed to.
Haha yer remember that, strangely enough thats when Fury ducked Price, which seems very funny now after what has happened to Prices career. Bellew an Fury have respect for each other, not sure if you have twitter? Bellew seems to be quite friendly with Peter Fury. He also said this also in support of Tyson (see link below) Think a lot of it is jokes and to get attention. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/boxing/tony-bellew-defends-tyson-fury-10582684
Fair does mate. :good Being local to him , I guess I see it an hear it more Hope he does become world champ, but as I said he aint the best, but has a huge heart, an he has never took an easy route or ducked anyone, Unlike others.
Yeah the only stuff I see here in Florida is from Youtube and that's almost always something negative. I think its way too soon for him to go for a title, he should fight Afolabi, McKenzie, Durodola, Akberbayev or Maccarinelli and if he can successfully beat them and look good doing it then I'll give him a chance against the top guys.
Durodola and Akberbayev are good shouts, but Bellew beats the other 3 easy an would be a backwards step. Afolabi needs more fights first but has potential, just not yet for him v Bellew
I used to think bellew was a complete bellend, he was just insufferable, but now looking back at it I think he was a guy who is always a bit edgy and was playing up to it but he came across terribly He then changed his style from a all action go for the kill style to a boring defensive fighter just too get the victory and protect his chin and then I really hated him because he seemed all mouth no action But lately his came across very well and in a lot of ways he seems like one of the niciest down to earth boxers around and his last s**** was a good watch. So I hope he does well and goodison park will be insane on fight night . however the white swan does a number on him and it will be pretty brutal, but not writing bellew off, iv seen boxers rise to the occasion before and reach levels that they normally couldn't reach, maybe he can do it at goodison I don't understand lebedevs nickname either the white swan. I think Quasimodo would be more apt
Lebedev all the way on this one. Bellew will not survive the same on slaught he had in his last fight.
