What's the story with him? Since capturing the Silver medal in the London 2012 Olympics, not much heard from him. Any word? Is he going to Rio? Signing up with either AIBA Pro or WSB? Will he be turning professional? He's only 26 (will be 27 on Cinco De Mayo) so he certainly isn't too old to make a run. His amateur résumé is pretty bad ass, including wins over: Uranchimegiin Mönkh-Erdene of Mongolia - 3x Olympian, 2012 bronze medalist; 2-time World Championship bronze medalist Roniel Iglesias Sotolongo of Cuba - 2x Olympian, bronze & gold medalist; 2009 World Championship gold medalist (Iglesias later avenged the loss in the London Olympics gold match) Anthony Yigit of Sweden - very good amateur, currently 12-0-1 (5) in the pros. Jeff Horn of Australia - currently 9-0 (7) in the pros, looking good, and considered a top Aussie prospect. Tom Stalker - gold medalist at both the Commonwealth Games and Euro Championships; 2012 Olympian; bronze medalist at the world championships; currently 11-1 (2) in the pros with his lone defeat coming to fellow unbeaten prospect Jack Catterall. Hope he turns pro.I know he turned down an off from Top Rank about a year ago. He's so exciting to watch.
Yeah no kidding, why is K2 babying him so much? I mean, Georgy Mizsei Jr. for your third pro bout is pretty respectable, and I can even forgive picking at the bones of ancient Lorenzo Parra's corpse in #6 just for the sake of getting a former world titlist's name tacked onto your record to fluff yourself up - but for those still to be pretty much the peaks of his competition level, is troubling.
For some personal reasons, as far as I know (I'm not sure, though). He should fight this December. To defend his "title" (he has a WBO Oriental belt or something like that)...
Yes. Already out of it. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AGZgdjgIxA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftcoOtf2eSM
