Hogan promises his fans the best is yet to come, he is still hungry for another opportonity to become world champ. He thanks Jimmy and his team for coming into hostile territory and for putting up a good fight, and then offers to share his mic with him.

Jimmy encircles Hogan's neck in his arms fraternally and, still huffing and puffing, goes on a monologue about the difficult road toward making this fight, thanks Dennis and says he continues to have massive respect for him, doesn't make any excuses and knows he lost fair & square, but says he feels he got a moral victory in showing a large cross section of fans internationally what he is made of, that he's a warrior and made it close, and he says behind the scenes he and Dennis had a gentleman's agreement to have a rematch if this had been close and he feels he earned that, and Dennis agrees it'll definitely happen at some point although he's currently set to become a mandatory for a world title, so he doesn't commit to it being next for him.

Both guys are class acts. Kelly very humble in defeat.

Don't rate Smith at all... Hogan has a chance I'd say. Close fight. Ali himself might have the beating of Smith(proving he can remain vertical and not get shafted on the cards)

Hogan's promoter saying he is sick of Aussie fighters having to go abroad jumping through hoops for world titles. He says Mundine and others paved the way and now Horn is the standard-bearer and Hogan might be there beside him soon. He says Hogan should be sliding into the #1 ranking now (he was #2 and Kelly #3 heading in) and has the clout and is enough of a draw to bring a title fight home to Brisbane.

You know they're going to hang & get absolutely sauced tonight.. and I can see them developing a Gatti & Ward type of "forged in battle" friendship - which in no way should diminish them replicating how fiercely & hard they fought today if & when they rematch. :sisi1

Mundine/Quinlin is a good fight at MW-SMW. Both aboriginal, similar style(Quinlin obviously borrowing his from Mundine) Would like to see that one next.

Agreed. I think Hogan better keep his fingers crossed that Beefy retains, because that's a far more favorable match-up for him.

I think Sadam would school Dennis.

I could see Choc jumping at the chance - a) feeling confident in thinking Renold is damaged goods/weakened prey after the Hooper war & getting stopped, and b) the gloating he could throw Geale's way, can you imagine??? "Hey, so remember the guy that KO2ed you into retirement? Well I beat him. So I guess that counts as the official tiebreaker in our rivalry, previously knotted at 1-1. :flipa:"

    Guy's that petty.

It's a close fight. Quinlin seems to have a decent beard only getting stopped late by Jr. and then late by Hooper a legit Light-Heavyweight. Mundine probably wouldn't have been as lucky had he been down twice today. This is a near 50/50 but probably favor the younger Quinlin ever so slightly. and yeah.... Mundine would find a way to say something that stupid or worse during the build up.

...the pipes, the pipes they were a-calling? You missed a decent little quick-paced, hard-scrabble feather-fist dust-up.

    I thought he looked good.

Won all the rounds, didn't get hit, stopped his man in the 5th.

    Calm, poised & purposeful throughout.

The Kiwi apparently had 55 wins from 60 amateur fights so was decent.
