Baluta has beaten many Queensberry prospects including Andrew Cain last time out. Liam Davies did beat him though comfortably. I think McCann will win but it will be really close and competitive. Also not sure why they're doing this at York Hall on a Friday night. If Yarde doesn't have a great opponent they could have put this as chief support to that. Anyhow it's a great matchup.

Because it's Frank Warren...York Hall shows is what he does, if this is on a saturday night he knows no one will tune in to watch.

Anyway Mccann will probably end up winning every round, I'm guessing it'll be scheduled for 10 rounds.

Yarde card is going to be very solid if what I heard is correct.

They want to push McCann as a headliner. His digital figures are quite high and he is good on social media, in particular TikTok.

Very nice undercard for this show at York Hall is also incoming

If you want to engage in debates, then engage....don't resort to petty insults, you're not standing out from anyone.

Davies Cunningham taking place where? Essentially the York Hall of Birmingham
    Mccann Baluta - York Hall
Adeleye last week - York Hall
    Zorro Burton - York Hall
Heaney Flatley 2 - Birmingham York Hall
    Adeleye Bezus - York Hall
Paul Fury - No one cares

Only decent fight he's staged this year in an arena has been Yarde Beterbiev.

Nathaniel Collins v Raza Hamza. Raven Chapman possibly against Sarah Mafoud (the girl who fought Serano on QP card) and good prospects on the lower card

Good fight. Queensberry may as well just sign Baluta (if they haven’t already).

Joyce - Zhang = Copperbox. The rematch scheduled for September = Wembley Arena.

The Telford Centre is nothing like York Hall - it’s almost 3 times bigger for a start.

The York Hall shows you have highlighted are
    Friday night dust ups.

IF Tyson fights on that Sept date, they have Tottenham already on hold.

Tickets are down across the board for non big fights . It’s only MR holding onto bigger arena’s for no good reason other than pride. As a result alot of there events are half empty.

The Sunny Edwards card minus Bosh Fishers fans could have been held in a phone booth. Even with his fans, it should probably have taken place in the Brentwood centre.

Wood - Lara 2 had about 5k paid tickets tops and it was dead in there. Should have waited for Notts or gone somewhere smaller

None of this is a knock on MR. They probably think it's a better look to pretend it's 2018 again and their still banging out arenas like the old days- go ahead.

However, if QP and recently Boxxer chose to cut their cloth accordingly, then its more than understandable.

I much prefer a banged out smaller area, rather than a dead, black curtained off 02/Manc arena

They signed him after he beat Foster a few years ago. Baluta has had a wonderful time - he’s earned some great money and even bagged his Missus from one of the fight week hotels during Covid. Great kid, very enterinaing fighter so good for him

Remember Matchroom sold out Cardiff with Cordina against Rakhimov this year and also against Ogawa last year. They also sold out the 3 Arena with Katie Taylor. Joshua Franklin was sold out at the 02, and Wood Lara 1 did great ticket numbers in Nottingham. Edwards wasn't supposed to headline the card on June 5 at the 02, it was the 3rd option for the main event.

What’s wrong with staging cards in Telford? They’ve got some decent talent there, it’s pretty central in England and holds 4-5k so doesn’t look empty like the Okolie card in Birmingham, Edwards card at Wembley etc.

Packing out small areas > filling 25% of big arenas every day of the week.

All of which are great events/appropriate venues. I never said that MR haven’t done very successful cards recently.

I was referring to cards such as Edwards the other day at Wembley Arena which was complete dross. Eddie is having a go with Sunny which is great, but flyweights headlining at a 12k capacity arena in the UK is ridiculous. I remember when QP had to get Edwards to pretend he tripped over his dog to cancel a fight scheduled for Copperbox. Reason being no tickets were sold, and they had their 1st prospects show the night before also at Copperbox and all the kids did well on the tickets and it sold much more than Sunnys..

Again no knock as it’s a rough climate, but AJ -
Franklin was a real struggle. They were selling tickets on that site which does them for like
    £5 on fight week.

Anyway, let’s get behind all the promoters when we can and not just knock them for the sake of it - it’s imperative for the health of the sport that they can maintain a business
