If he’s just serving a “silent ban” and can reapply for his licence after two years, what’s the point? All this does is create a gap where there’s zero oversight. Who’s to stop him loading up on PEDs during that period — chances of being tested are basically nil. He could come back looking like a train.

I can't help but think that doping would be virtually eliminated overnight if trainers were banned for as long as any fighter who got caught.

That's the part that really sticks in the throat, same tactics that Connor Benn adopted. Not sure what can be done, but I'd like to see an incentive for those boxers that admit it. Or perhaps more a disincentive to those who go the brass neck approach.

There is already incentives for admitting it, or at least there used to be. Don't y9ou remember the jack 3d ones where both Dillian Whyte and Enzo Macaranelli failed. Enzo got a ban much less than Dillian because he held his hands up.

I think a part of the incentive may also include having to give the names of the people supplying the PEDS etc and that might be where most people don't want to be seen to do that because they would be seen as a 'grass' so to speak

Agree. But in this day and age, you'd have to ban the trainer, the S&C coach, the nutritionist, the physio, etc. Even lower level boxers can afford all that or subscribe to meal-planning services the S&C coach recommends.

Shame as I would love to have seen him stop McGrail, what I don't understand is why was he taking tren? Would that not be the worse substance for a boxer to take as it wrecks your stamina, some guy from the gym who took it told me he was would be struggling to get up the ladder for his roofing job on it?
