Cracking fight for English title on channel 5 last Saturday but an awful end. Bent was badly cut from a punch but it was deemed a head clash in the 7th round. Fight went to the cards. One judge for denny. One card a disgrace by shaun messer ( didnt give denny a round) and the other a draw. Denny left distraught in the ring and in the interview afterwards.

Whats people thoughts on what happened

I thought Denny was ahead on the cards and the cut was not caused by a clash of heads.
It was a cracking fight and whilst you can feel for Denny I'm sure they can do it again,if that cut heals.
Not as high profile as the DAZN card but I thought it was the fight of the night.

Cracking fight only caught up with it yesterday. Denny is a sound lad really felt for him. Thought messer card was disgusting. Both are local to me and theirs alot of hate towards messer in local area by numerous fighters with cards and decisions his given.

Great fight whilst it lasted. Have to feel for Denny, it was competitive but it was clear he was in control.

The cut was caused by a clash of heads. Or rather that’s what opened it up. But the damage was done by a beauty of right cross left hand uppercut.

First card I’ve seen on channel 5 for a while and it’s definitely stepped up the quality of the cards and competitiveness of each fight.

Denny lands a flush right hand on River Bent.

Then blood starts flowing out of his eye over Denny’s shoulder in the clinch.

It’s clear even at normal speed that there were no heads involved. In slow motion it’s very clear.

Had River Bent landed that then no doubt in my mind he counts it as a punch.

    It’s typical corruption against a B side/opponent fighter.

Another disgusting moment in a sport that is in decline right now in the U.K. Moments like this don’t help either. Who would blame Denny for packing it in after that?
