    Round 9

Vassell ducks and hurls himself in at Colomban shoulder first. Colomban is warned for something by Howard Foster, unclear what. Headbutt? Low blow? Colomban is now pumping his left and right straight through while backing up, and Vassell is trying to counter over them with power hooks as he charges after. Both are landing a bit. Now Vassell gets Colomban driven back against the ropes and digs in with hooks to the body. Vassell using a lot of elbow to finish off his hooks. Colomban has his arms folded up and is smacking back with short light counters. They break and get out to the center of the ring where Vassell lunges in with right hand leads, missing at first but then setting them up behind his jab and doing a bit better. Colomban leans in, trying a left hook but having it knocked aside by Vassell's arm. Body shots by Vassell, hard stuff. Colomban grabs him. Uppercuts to the body attempted by Colomban but Vassell is holding him back by the upper arms and making him reach and miss.

    10-9 Vassell

    88-82 Vassell

    Round 10

Body shot by Vassell hurts Colomban. The challenger looks for a low blow call and doesn't get it. Frustrated, he jumps back into the fray and trades wildly with Vassell. Good hooks by Vassell. Colomban leaps back out of the way. Vassell hops along after him, hooking at the body and then flopping into him against the ropes as he can't halt his momentum. Colomban tries to work his jab as he backs out and circles left. Vassell just rushes in and smothers him against the ropes. Now Vassell bounces back to create just enough space to work the body, still leaning his upper chest against Colomban and grinding down on him with his full weight. Separation. Vassell lunges with a leaping left hook. Colomban ducks and tries to swerve shots in at the body. Vassell grabs him and muscles him across the ring. Soft flurries to the body by Colomban, desperate. Fewer body shots but much heavier ones by Vassell.

    10-9 Vassell

    98-91 Vassell

    Round 11

Jabs are exchanged from outside. Vassell is just tossing his out haphazardly, obviously eager to get back inside and bang the body. Colomban is hanging on the jab as his last hope, trying to keep Vassell out but unable to find him when he moves his head. Vassell grinds him into a corner and works some body shots, with Colomban predictably whining about phantom low blows. Cuffing left hook to the top of the head by Vassell as Colomban ducks and scurries back out of the pocket. Vassell stays on him, pressing him into the ropes and wrestling with him until Foster splits them. Nice quick up-jab by Colomban with a slick bit of footwork vanishing off to the left. Clinch. Slaps to the body by Colomban. Vassell grinds into him, again putting him on the ropes but only for a second before the break. Right upper to the body jumping in by Vassell. Big left hook upstairs by Vassell gets ducked. HARD RIGHT HAND from out of nowhere catches Colomban on the chin. Bell.

    10-9 Vassell

    108-100 Vassell

    Round 12

Vassell fires elastic-band jabs up at Colomban's face trying to work his way in, but getting eluded with sideways movement or grabbed as Colomban steps in to meet him halfway. Vassell grinds him to the ropes and works the body. Wild hooks by Vassell miss. Colomban keeps his long arms wrapped around Vassell. Now Vassell gets the literal upper hand and squeezes Colomban's arm trapped under his massive bicep. Body shots up close by Vassell. Colomban throws a 1-2, ducked. Vassell is throwing relatively little. Two or three body shots per lean-in now, compared to several at a go in the earlier rounds. Chopping right hand and left hook to the head by Vassell as Colomban tries to hold.

    10-9 Vassell

    118-109 Vassell

Somehow Halling and Watt seem to think Colomban deserved the 12th because he defended a bit better and got hit less than in previous rounds. :blood

    He also didn't land anything...

That's one reason Oscar stopped hanging out with him. Poor wing man.

(plus Ricky kept blowing all his rails)
