Last night should be the standard for the average card whether on Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Channel 5 or DAZN UK. The only criticism remaining for Frankie Warden is he needs to sort out his timings as far too many of his cards have ended on a Sunday. Very enjoyable card and the order was so good that the female fight was out of the way early and the Heavyweight stinker allowed people to watch Azim on Sky Sports. Hopefully the promoters can work together and avoid date clashes in the future.
It was. Agree with @Beale on the late finish but it was worth waiting for, to be honest, good outcome. And the card had a couple of upsets which is always good, not the usual mix of foregone conclusions, foreign taxi drivers and a "name" main event with a safety-first favourite hanging on to a minor alphabet belt. Proper old school British boxing.
The trouble with picking up on the football fans is that you lose everyone else. There's only so many "He's one of our own" tickets you can sell.
Exactly. When I saw the event last night, I was reminded of some of the great Frank Warren shows 20 - 25 years ago. Warren is back on the big stage and that's good for British boxing. I remember someone saying to me many years ago that if Frank Warren is doing well then British boxing is doing well
He did a nice job as co-commentator but I prefer Buncey in the studio together with Carl Frampton. They are excellent together.
Laura Woods comes across a lot better on TNT too - does her job and has a bit of fun with the pundits, rather than just linking together Bellew and Hearn monologues. Matchroom might be about to find out that booking Cardiff football fans against those of an English team, might not be the best idea...
He is worthless and not worth watching. Does Frank Warren want to use Solomon as an opponent for one of his other heavyweights ?
She seems much more relaxed and happy in the company of Buncey and Carl Frampton. Laura Woods has become a very good studio host on TNT Sports.
