Maybe I am too harsh. I am not fan of his. He does not impress me and I believe his record is heavily padded. I'll leave it at that.
see that's all I meant, that was pretty fair, his record is padded no doubt. I just find him interesting that he has gone as far as he has regardless to his padded record. I thought Bermaine would beat him. He obviously has some power. He will probably get KOed soon enough but I don't hold that against him. Most do and will.
Look at his resume, watch at his last 4 fights. He is an absolute fraud. I was a fan of his, from the time he turned pro until he got to 13-0 and saw he wasn't going to take the training wheels off and fight credible opposition. I wrote him off then. 20 fights+ later now, here we are....he's still fighting nobodies and avoiding challenges, and looking like **** in the ring.
He just needs to fight Povetkin. If Wilder beats Sasha, I will cease my heckling. Until then ... Dustin Nichols wants his rematch!
Of course it's not always, but who do you see bad mouthing boxers obviously because of their race on thread after thread on this forum, the Scene, YTBC especially, and on and on? Come on man. TYBC black racialism is almost unbearable at this point. It's not even fun being on there anymore. This obsessive defensiveness regarding Ward, Wilder, Floyd, etc is like a bear protecting it's cub, or Floyd in a prison cell with these guys protecting his anu$. Here's a reality check to these folks. We don't hate Floyd (whom I'm a big fan of his matches) or any of these guys because of who they are, but rather the ducking, outside of the ring antics, fans of these guys (Floyd, Ward), cherry picking (Wilder), and blatant disregarding of facts of standards for the fighters they like and absolute double, quadruple standards of those (white, non-black) fighters that they don't like. Simple as that. No one is saying that it's 100% one way, but close enough.
YES. Here we are, 20 fights later, and he's the undefeated WBC Heavyweight champion preparing to make the fourth defense of his title. You know how many heavyweight champions never made THREE successful defenses? MOST of them. Sonny Liston. Rid**** Bowe. Gene Tunney. Max Baer. Max Schmeling. Jack Sharkey. Jersey Joe Walcott. Ken Norton. Hasim Rahman. John Tate. Mike Weaver. Gerrie Coetzee. Michael Dokes. Tim Witherspoon. Greg Page. Tony Tubbs. Pinklon Thomas. Michael Spinks. Leon Spinks. Primo Carnera. Jim Braddock. Gentleman Jim Corbett. Bob Fitzsimmons. Ingemar Johansson. Jess Willard. Trevor Berbick. Tony Tucker. Buster Douglas. Michael Moorer. Ray Mercer. Tommy Morrison. Herbie Hide. Oliver McCall. Frank Bruno. Henry Akinwande. Ernie Terrell. Marvin Hart. Corrie Sanders. Sergei Liakhovich. Shannon Briggs. Oleg Maskaev. Sultan Ibragimov. Bermane Stiverne. Sam Peter. David Haye. And I'm sure I missed a few. Did Foreman make four successful defenses in two reigns? If you count Lou Savarese and Crawford Grimsley, I guess. You guys think everyone defends any title for a decade like Wlad did? Know how many successful defenses Charles Martin will make? Likely none. Know how many Tyson Fury may make? Very possibly NONE. Deontay Wilder is a fine champ. Better than many who came before him, actually.
seriously... if Povetkin was holding a title hostage by beating up DrummerBoy Molina, Pastry Chef Duhaupuss, and Soccer Hooligan Szpilka... he would be a joke and made fun of on this forum!!! but... Povetkin's last 3 fights are Perez, Takam & Wach!!! I think Perez & Takam would KO Wilder if they had proper notice to get ready for the fight but Burger Boy likes to give his opponents no training camps!! last minute notice for the fight and have them do interviews and photo opts right up to fight night!!! :burger BURGER SQUAD!! :yep
