This is an enormous test for Wilder, but if he can pass it and knock Povetkin out in his own backyard, that definitely is a HUGELY powerful statement. He might never have to fight outside America again if he could pull it off.

Yep. He can demand VADA testing if he is so worried about it. No excuses.

Most expensive pile of glass since they dropped that Ming Dynasty vase at Sotheby’s a couple years back :)

I think we'll notice a decline in Povetkin's speed, timing, durability, and other abilities. He's already 36, and has been fighting as a pro for what -- nine or ten years now?

He still has enough in the tank to defeat Wilder, though.

Russia today is actually a lot like the US used to be 1920-1930s. Mobsters and Politicians shook hands and respected each other. This goes for boxing as well. The mob controls boxing in Russia today, very similar to pre-war USA boxing.

It's still that way in the US... Look at who funds our politicians. Soros is no different than any of the Russian oligarchs/mobsters.

It really hurts me to learn how much money that overrated American hype job earns for fighting Povetkin.
I mean Pulev go peanuts when he fought Wlad, and the Bulgarian 's fight record is much better than Wilder's one.
A totally limited American fighter like Martin can now call himself champ. He even didnt win the world title in a real fight.
Glazkov was probably even ahead on points at the time their fight was stopped due to Glazkov's injury.Martin has absolutely beaten no one,not a single decent name.Nonetheless,he is now a reigning champ and can earn decent bucks.
Wilder and Martin have so many things in common.
Damn! How the hell does a fighter like Wilder deserve that many millions of dollars. He had beaten dozens of no-hopers,Duhaupas,Molina and that Polish journeyman Szilpka, and yes,Stiverne. What a pathetic fight record he has and still he is chosey, makes a big fuss about going to Russia and so on.
Far too much money for such a joke of a champ IMO.

Wilder is NOT a draw. That much is certain. He generates pathetic numbers in the USA, he is virtually unknown to casual fans.

Yeah, good point, but wait...not a good point and Americans are far more notorious for being drug cheats than Russia could ever hope to be.

7 millions of purse bid... minus 10%, and with 70% going to wilder, he's gonna get only 5 millions

A lil' difference from the 17 you guessed, eh, op?

But the best part is he was offered 10 millions flat as soon as he got his title, and he chickened out. He chickened outta the Wlad fight too, to watch a gipsy steal the victory and the belts, and that's why he was so sore in the interviews about Tyson.

Now he realized he lost 5 millions for nothing

Wilder will not go to Russia. He does not want to end up permantently injured.
