Deontay Leshun Wilder vs. Derek Chisora & Viddal Ethan Danso Riley vs. Mateusz Masternak RBR.

What was your scorecard? I thought the judges did a pretty good job. I had Chisora edging it but not by much. One of those kind of fights. Wouldn't mind seeing it run back. But Wilder will probably want to move on.

 

He may still be trying to decide. After meeting with the BBBofC at their monthly gathering, he will let us know.

 

We needed Lampley, Lederman, Merchant and Foreman on board for a wild HW fight like this lmao.

I just watched. Wilder CLEARLY slipped.

 

Crazy fight, but credit where it is due. Two aging warriors went to war and left it all in the ring.

 

Funny how you gave Wilder credit for taking the fight and predictably, virtually no credit for winning it.

 

Just caught up with the highlights, outside of a rock 'em sock 'em round 8/9 it seems quiet a scrappy low-quality affair.

Both guys should retire, they both gave their all, but not elite level

 

That's a good summation. I didn't score the fight but reading your scores they match up with what I saw too. I didn't like that card for Chisora, that just looked like the blatant, one card for the home fighter regardless. A draw from oner judge with two for Wilder would've been easier to swallow if they couldn't just do an honest job.

Someone above said that it felt like it was reffed as an exhibition and it did feel as if the ref was under instructions to keep It going. Wilder suggested he could've finished it but spared Chisora, not sure about that, but the ref certainly did his part to ensure the fight went the distance. It doesn't help that the countdown is now boomed out by a guy on a mic rather than the ref counting himself. When the countdown started it seemed like the ref waved it off so it really wasn't clear if it had been scored as a knockdown or not.

All in all if it were to be subsequently revealed that there was a tacit agreement that an outcome where both fighters could feel some sense of vindication would be preferable it wouldn't surprise me all that much. Although it was still a very entertaining watch regardless. Best outcome for the heavyweight scene also as Chisora goes out on his feet with a gutsy performance against a former champ whilst Wilder has now sufficiently distanced the memory of his recent poor performances enough to become a viable name for a bigger fight.
