I don’t remember him ducking Povetkin. For the record I am no Beyoncé fan either but I will call it like I see it.

Fury would box rings around Whyte just like he did to Wilder... And it'd be just as embarrassing and just as irrelevant to Whytes resume.

    Why would Wilder fear Whyte?

Probably because he's beaten better fighters than Wilder, because he's got at least a 50/50 chance of beating Wilder and because Wilder is a habitual ducker who has spent his entire career fighting little more than journeymen.

Wilder is a coward by nature.

Why would a coward fear a fight they're not confident they would win? Hmmm..... You tell me?

Povetkin failed a drugs test when mandatory for something pretty minor (and only recently illrgalised IIRC) - Wilder then ran a mile from him when he wasn't mandatory anymore.

I call it how I see it too, and I'm consistent... And to be fair I think you are too, it's just that (with respect) you tend to be more emotional and rate fighters based on what you see in them - I would say I'm more critical in judging them with the level of competition in mind (hence you rate Tank, Wilder and Ortiz far more highly than I do).

For all that it's easy to get carried away in disagreements, I know you're stating your honest opinion (and definitely not trolling), it just seems that we disagree fairly regularly

Thanks I base my assessment on my knowledge of the game, what I see etc. I am no defender of Wilder nor do I like him but I must call it as I see it. I am quite good at picking fights and style matchups and having envisaged this one for a while I see a Wilder knockout win.

No he doesn't. Whyte does has flaws yes and can be sloppy but he has some great strengths. One of if not the best left hook in divison, a good jab, physically very strong, works the body better than any in divison (bearing in mind Wilder was dropped by a glancing shot by boxer known for lacking punching power).

Wilder can't fight in the back foot, has a glass jaw and has avoided power puncher his whole career for a reason (in particular avoided Whyte like the plague).

As someone else said Whyte's resume is level above Wilder cherry picked soft touches resume.

Also boxers are not cowards. There is a lot that can be said about Beyoncé and Whyte for that matter but neither is a coward.

Like I said talk is cheap if the matchup is made I would bet heavily on Wilder but if you want to be a fool and lose your money then bet on Whyte. Wrong style match up for him.

    Results are irrelevant here

We are talking about opposition, nothing more

Wilder has Fury and Ortiz of a decent level

    Nobody else of note

Nah, I've said several times on this thread it could easily go either way - and FWIW I wouldn't bet on this fight fullstop... If really pushed I'd bet on Whyte, but mostly because the odds will be better and I would have him around 55-60% chance - not safe percentages to be betting on either way!

Whytes chin isn't good enough to take the big right flush, but he's familiar with a style that can cause Wilder trouble - put on top of that that his resume is (sorry) IMHO undisputably stronger and it's hard for me to go the other way.

I could easily be wrong, it's just that Wilder is so massively overhyped that it's common for him to be backed far more than IMHO he should be.

As I said above, his level lies somewhere between Fury and Ortiz... And that's a huge gaping chasm in which it could be - anywhere from above a gatekeeper+ to below arguably the best of the current era (and given the nature of his failings against Fury and his difficulty dealing with Ortiz, I'd hazard a guess that he's far closer to Ortiz level than to Fury level).

But this is the frustrating thing with Wilder, he's failed to make fights that would tell you where his level really lies and instead fought gatekeepers and journeymen - and having held one of the major belts, there's no excuse for not having made those fights.

Also... The term coward is relative... To you or I, fighting pros who will never threaten the belts would take massive balls - someone like Szpilka, for example, would annihilate either of us in seconds rather than minutes and yet for someone like Wilder who is a world title holder fighting guys like that and avoiding guys who would have a realistic chance of winning is cowardice in my eyes.

Who has Wilder beaten besides Ortiz ? Whyte beat gatekeeper Chisora, gatekeeper Parker, mediocre Rivas and shot to bits Povetkin, but even that resume is better than Wilders LOL. Wilder would be the favorite because of Whytes wafer chin but be real here, Wilder ducked him for years. Wilder is a hypejob trying to go through the path of least resistance

Not much better than Ortiz and Fury out there in this era.
