I think he tried to copy Furys blue print, i.e be the much heavier man and bully wilder, unfortunately for him he didn't have the skills or chin to see it through

Wow, I just saw the result of the Gary Antonio Russell fight. He got schooled.

Though he wasn’t stepping back, he KO’d Ortiz in the second fight with a pretty short right.

Can take nothing away from this fight at all, and I thought for as short as it was Wilder looked a bit awkward, but screw it Im just happy he won.

Kownacki is just a brawler. At HW, any good boxer-puncher will generally have the edge on a brawler. Also, Helenius is nearly 38 years-old...so he's declining.

The thought crossed mind as well... If that's the case it was a horrible mistake. The best performance he had in over 10 years was 15 lbs lighter. But that aside... The way he was punching, the speed, reflexes seemed like someone who just simply showed up, so I'm not sure I buy that theory.

He was dancing around a lot which just looked weird. Wilder should never try and be something he isn’t, he does one thing very very well and it works.

Even though Usyk vs Fury seems like the logical fight to make next I would still like to see Wilder vs Usyk if it doesn't come off, just a fascinating style matchup. I'd favor Usyk to outwork him and win a clear UD or late stoppage but he has to stay switched on all the way.

Guys… no dive. I was there and the shot landed with a thud. I’m never shocked by what I read on here but damn some of y’all are dumb.

Also Wilder landed this same punch against Ortiz in the first fight and sent him buckling into the ropes, leading to the KO.

From that angle Helenius looked like a zombie they dig up and put in for Halloween, the way he moves, sloppy wide punches, etc.

Breazeale got in one hard shot, yes, but he mostly just stood in front of Wilder not throwing.

I'm talking about the condition he had in that fight vs. tonight. This was clearly someone cashing out.
