GGG in his first 12 title fights didn't fight Jacobs or Dev sadly, his best wins at the time were Daniel Geale, Proska and Gabe Rosado. He wasted his career waiting for that Canelo payday.

Golovkin is up there with him.

Golovkin only has Canelo and Jacobs on his record, and he only fought Canelo because of the massive payday, otherwise it would have only been Jacobs.

Exactly. I have made this point multiple times. What makes it worse for GGG is that he's actually had opportunities to fight quality opponents, and GGG has been a titlist years longer than Wilder.

That's my point exactly. If Wilder has no skill then why Fury couldn't defeat him and was close to getting brutally stopped?
What is Fury's opinion on Wallin? Otto landed 50 percent of his punches and dominated multiple rounds including the round 12 when he had Fury seriously hurt.

Worse in history? Not even close. Look at the first 30 fights of Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.
There are tons of examples of fighters going years into their careers fighting local stiffs, debutantes, and feasting on a category of guys more suspicious than the honorable tomato can.... the professional losers. Professional losers that sport records like 3-40, 0-22, or triple digit losses.

You could do an entire thread on fighters with the worst first 30 fights in a career.

I don't think it was an option. The date etc was already agreed and if he'd delayed he'd have risked losing the fight. It is too early for the cut to have adequately healed, but he's chosen to take the risk.

My favourite part of this is when Fury claims there's an old saying and then takes a long pause to quickly make something up that he can try to pass off as an old boxing adage.
