    Yes, there's Joshua.

But old Ortiz would certainly lose to Parker and any other prime decent heavyweight.

Ortiz never was very good (look at who he fought), but now he's faded with age and not even as good as he was 5 or 6 years ago.

You seem to be completely overlooking the fact that Wilder doesn't exactly rely on looking good in there. His primary fighting style is based on landing his power shot and that's about it. It's a one-dimensional fighting style, but extremely effective nevertheless. Making Wilder looking bad in there isn't exactly the way to beat him, surviving his power is.

You made a similar comparison with Fury vs McDermott. Not to overlook Fury, but that one fight doesn't automatically erase everything Fury accomplished after it. At the very moment Fury is officially the #1 fighter because he remains to be the last fighter to beat undisputed champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Can't help but think he is. Won't be surprised if Fury pulls that rug from underneath Wilder come fight night and does something unexpected.

    Why pull out?

Just do like Stiverne did in the rematch ... just run right into a Wilder punch ... a little crawling around on the canvas and in no time you're at home counting your easy money!

sure the fans hate it and feel like they threw their money away paying to watch it but if you think any of these guys actually give a crap you're living in a Fantasy World!!

They're both 'mentally tough' but in different ways.

Wilder has a very simpleton-esque delusional self-belief which is hard to crack, and is helped by the fact he's never been down in the pros, KO'd everyone. Because he isn't capable of thinking, it's hard to play mind games with him and I don't think Fury's games work as well as they did on Wlad.

Fury likely has a more substantial mental toughness because he's been down, hurt, faced more adversity, knows he can be taken out by Wilder, doesn't have the big KO punch and still has the confidence/swagger. It's hard to believe he is so calm right now considering the big KD last time, the cut, the new camp, it shows how much belief he has. The fact he fought Wilder on the big stage, undercooked, and had belief he would win despite everyone warning against the fight shows his mental toughness. Imagine Wilder without the big punch(say recovering a hand injury) agreeing to fight Joshua after a large lay-off, under prepared, on the biggest stage. Hard to see that happening.

    Fury will be hearing counts...

open his eyes in his hospital bed...

it's the audio from the KO replays...

fat nurses are gathered around watching it on the rooms tv and giggling!

I must say, I would be very surprised if Fury tried to bulldoze Wilder. He's pretty smart in the ring and I'm sure he knows fighting in front of Wilder, trying to go through Wilder would be to Wilders advantage.

Won’t be that stupid really, the third fight is already in the bag whatever happens.
If he was to lose now due to injury, nothing changes really, still a potential for 1-1-1 record against Wilder. If he wins with dodgy ankles there’s a shot for 2-0-1 with added bragging rights.

tons of excuses filed on record now

Fury can go ahead and push for the KnockOut and get nailed and claim it was his only option due to injuries that he couldn't have went 12 rounds...
