    Let’s be honest...
Wilder was awful and scared as **** all night long. Good for him that he has that tremendous right hand can save his ass at any moment during a fight.

But, I give him credit for showing a lot of heart after he was on the verge of getting KTFO. A couple more seconds and it was over. One thing is pissing me off though, Wilder’s corner bought some time at the beginning of the next round where Wilder seemed pretty confused...

Wilder won, his stock went up a bit. But he looked pretty bad, had to foul by hitting Ortiz behind the head, and throwing him down, and took over late when Ortiz, at least age 38 slowed down.
Ortiz was Wilder's best opponent by far.

You could say Wilder proved he could take at least a solid shot, but the guy can't box, and if he fights a top 10 opponent who is in his prime, he is going to lose.

Accomplished with referee help who never uttered a warning never allowed Ortiz recovery time from a foul after Wilder employed from a judo-like throw which severely hurt Ortiz.

So yes, he won but the following can't be ignored.

Employing Judo-like throw ignored by ref
Receiving extra time to recover from ref
Three powerful Rabbit punches ignored by ref
    Excessive clinching without ref interference

He beat the 40th slow, fat guy in his career, and almost got beat by his best slow, fat, old opponent yet. Until I see him demolish a fast mover at the top level, even if he is to beat AJ, I still don't rate Wilder. AJ came off the floor with no energy to beat a MOVING TARGET. That is a far more superior win than Wilder's win. Top 5 heavyweight yes, but I'm not having him top 3 until he beats a boxer with movement.

    BTW
I disagree with taking a child to see a father get possibly beaten up that way. It can psychologically traumatize a child permanently.

Why even post such garbage... you can't have a guy who hasn't fought in 2.5 years in the top 5 -.- and Joshua is the clear #1 until beaten.. ugh you wilder trolls are seriously going overboard... put wilder at#2 -.-

If Wilder beats A.J., I will have no doubt in my mind but now Wilder is not #1.

Today Mr Wilder' s statue is gleaming in the Alabama sunlight, reflecting the rays of the sun for hundreds of miles, a 21st century Lighthouse of Alexandria, a beacon of hope for all mankind.

If Wilder is the number one heavyweight, then sadly his purses are not reflecting that, Ali, Dempsey etc etc were number one in their day, did they earn the biggest purses, Yes.

Wilder with that punch is a risk for any heavyweight it truly is awesome, he today deserves the plaudits, yes he beat a old guy, but that old guy was no slouch, so Wilder did good he as the saying goes 'Beat the man put in front of him'.

Anyway i am sure i could suffer either way being number one or not if i was earning the 2 million dollars like Wilder has for his fight, though of course would prefer the 18 million dollar (13 million pounds) that Joshua will earn against parker.

To be honest wilder answered a few questions about his chin and heart, he isn't packing wafer thin glass like we thought. However I don't think ortiz is a huge puncher like some people made out, he had wilder in big trouble and couldn't knock him over with clean shots. Wilder is lucky ortiz isn't 38 because he would have been knocked out for sure.

Aj is number 1, Wilder is number 2, we will see why if they get it on.
