Definitely not. I think Wilder has the length and speed to stay on the outside and potshot his way to a victory. He'd be foolish to tango with Povetkin.

Exactly all he has to do is uses his length and legs and he should be able to tag Povetkin from the outside all night long.

Terrific fight, 50/50 in my opinion. Yes, there are many unanswered questions regarding Wilder, but imo Pov is a bit overhyped... Yeah, he demolished Takam in amazing fashion, but that was a long time ago. His last fight with Wach wasn't as convincing, but again Wilder wasn't sharp against Szpilka... That's what makes that fight interesting. Can't wait!

You got the feeling Wilder was probably going to face Povetkin as long as he was able to keep the fight in the U.S.

This is a really good heavyweight fight. I'd rate Povetkin higher and make him the favorite but this is a good competitive fight and either guy winning by any outcome possible is no surprise.

Fact remains Povetkin is easy to hit. And he hasn't really faced anyone with Wilder's power except Wlad, who basically wrestled him all night. But he still knocked down Povetkin with jabs, doesn't bode well for his ability to take the gatlin gun that is Wilder's right.

If Wilder can keep him at the end of a jab and punish him everytime he comes in, he should win.

But the x factor always remains Wilder's chin. He's gonna take shots somewhere along the way, so he will have to be able to eat them.

But he absolutely has to make Povetkin pay everytime he comes in. I don't think I'd take the fight to Povetkin if I was Wilder, he has a significant reach and height advantage so there is no need to. To risky. Let Povetkin come to him and punish him on the way in, then keep moving.

Personally, I'd like to see Wilder KTFO of Povetkin, but the ole pudgesicle has a decent chin and if Wilder comes in at 230 he might get manhandled early. Wlad had a little trouble early and he was 15 or 20 lbs heavier at fight time.
Pov is no push over, so props to Wilder if this fight happens and he wins it.

Wilder is worlds apart from Marco Huck.

    He gave Povetkin fits.

Povetkin lost to Vlad...a guy that doesn't throw NEARLY as many punches as Wilder.

Vlad throws one at a time...Wilder fires combos.
Vlad falls into clinches...Wilder fights on the inside.

Sasha hasn't seen anything like Wilder.

Wilder is too good on the inside to get manhandled.:deal

You have to take into account those left hooks to the body and nasty uppercuts in close.

Wilder will be on those ribs like BBQ sausce.

I doubt Sasha can take it downstairs.
