Yep takes on an ATG Heavyweight in his 19th fight. Who did Wilder fight in his 19th fight? Boxrec #200?

You can literally FEEL Wilder's handlers are Boxrec whores. They systematically screen the rankings and God forbid a fighter is ranked within the top #15 they will not let him anywhere NEAR their fragile cash cow.

Anyone who hated on Vitali will hate on Wilder by default.

Both have a weak resume but both seem like they have good skills in the ring, but both have yet to prove those skills at the highest level. Sanders and Stiverne are not the highest level.

So yeah, don't be surprised to see the Klitschko haters doling out the same hate on Deontay.

It's comparable in kind but not in degree. Wilders best win was a borderline top 5 hw at best, and has yet to beat another clear top ten. He's underrated by many because it IS very hard to beat as many top 15-30 hw's as he has without picking up a loss. Right now, he's got the best resume of any of the active champs (which will end either way after the AJ Wlad fight). As disgraceful as his lack of competition has been, he's still in rarified air for his number of successful defenses and one could make a reasonable argument he's top 50 all time.

Your right to some extent that Vitali has comparable problems, but they are completely different in scope. Sanders and Peter are incomparably better wins than Stiverne. Arguably Adamek and Johnson were better as well, and he's got at least a half dozen other wins that were significantly better than any other win Wilder had. (On a side note, the comp and performance of his losses and the greater dominance of his wins also is more distinctive than Wilders). Most consider Vitali a top 10 to 20 HW ATG (based on past polls). To some extent, that recognition happened at or after the end of his career.

If Wilder goes on to have a respectful rest of his career, and never is "exposed" against inferior comp or utterly collapses, I'm sure he'll be treated more kindly once his career is over or ending. Right now, people are a little blinded by his atrocious comp(which takes Vitali's problems and ups the ante considerably), that's only natural. Personally, I think if he only loses to AJ and maybe one or two other top guys in decent fights, fights another 5 years or more, and gets some real good wins mixed in there and picks up another belt along the way, he could go down as a top 25 guy.

Yes, Joshuas resume isn't good but he only has 19 fights. Half of the fights Wilder has. And AJ is stepping up RIGHT NOW. Making tens of millions in a single fight, selling out a 90k venue. Wilder has problems filling a 9k seater in his hill-billy hometown.

It is amazing how people on here can't understand this. Joshua is doing something in his 19th fight that Wilder with many more fights wasn't willing to do and that is fight Wlad. While Joshua is willing to fight Wlad in front of 90,000 Wilder hasn't been willing to fight anyone with a pulse.

And a win over a 41 year old Klitschko would be better than anything Wilder has done or even attempted to do. Wilder is such a joke he is negotiating to fight Wach next. A guy Wlad destroyed 4 and a half years ago.

You'll have to wait until end of May until the announcement is made. Wilder is known for allowing his opponents a camp for 3-4 weeks only.

They're Boxrec #35-50 opponents and yet Wilder still can't allow them a proper 8 week camp! It would potentially be too dangerous for his glass jaw if his no-hoper opponents came in with a full, professional camp.

Plus Wach is a confirmed roid abuser -- Wilder said multiple times he won't fight "PED cheaters who fail drug tests", yet he fought Arreola and now wants to fight Wach.

Why? Because they're shot to bits and don't pose a risk. The PED talk just exposes Wilder as a total liar.

If Wilder was fighting Wlad next you'd be saying Wilder is fighting a Wlad that got dominated by Fury , looked bad against Jennings and is old and rusty coming off a long lay off.
He'd get zero credit and in all honesty would probably get abused for picking on an old man coming off a loss.

Wlad is 41. You can't change that. He is also coming off his longest layoff and will likely be the heaviest and most unmotivated he has ever been against Joshua. What does that say about Joshua if he loses?
