DEONTAY WILDER CALLS OUT JOSEPH PARKER FOR JULY UNIFICATION

Because the Furys have f---ed Parker over he needs a replacement for May 6th.

 

Another thing is - Wilder is attending this Saturdays Joshua vs Klitschko date. He might say something different there where he will be commentating that fight. Wilders definitely talking a lot lately, here with Joe and just a few weeks ago it was Joshua so I wouldn't jump off the cliff if Wilder tells you. Interesting stuff though from Wilder.

 

Parker's fight is next week, why would he scrap that?
If Wilder is serious he will wait til late July/August and make this fight happen.

 

I am aware that the fight is not being offered now but that's not a sticking point. I was over excited about the possibility of it happening and didn't stop to think about all the mental preparation and stress that Parker has built up needs to be released.

 

There is also the financial commitment already invested into May 6th to take into account.

For now team Parker need to concentrate everything into May 6th and not get themselves sidetracked on ifs and maybes.

Wilder always done this kind of thing... The calls outs conveniently occur when the opponent in question is busy.

 

Yeh, I agree. Unless it's some kind of controversial decision or a draw that demands a rematch ... almost 100% sure Wilder is going to be either trying to get ... or saying he wants at least ... a shot at the AJ/Wlad winner. This is probably a better financial play for Parker too. Wilder's following and profile is far less than either AJ or Wlad, probably because most US boxing fans don't see him as the real deal because he hasn't taken on any top tier HWs for whatever reason.

 

My only concern is for his well being as a fighter and his need to release the pressure of preparing for a certain fighter and then getting the big let down. He needs to put hands on somebody on the 6th of May because it would be good for him. It's not about the financial commitment because that can be handled without the same stress.

 

I hear what you are saying, and I think both those areas are important.

It sounds like Duco are doing everything they can to ensure the best fight they can deliver on short notice, happens on May 6th.

A labor day weekend fight in Vegas sounds like a great idea. Parker trains/lives in Vegas. Raise his profile in the US. Put the thing on CBS or nbc both get a ton of exposure. This is what Parker and AJ should be doing if they want to crack the US market. Once they get the exposure they maybe able to sell PPVs.

Anyways I think Parker was eyeing the Bellew fight after his current fight. Not really a risky fight for him, cracks the lucrative UK market with a big payday. But maybe not, saw bellew might already be neogiating a Haye rematch. I hope Parker and Wilder get it on this summer though, would be awesome. AJ would probably come sit ringside too.

So Parkers team should just throw away more money not going ahead with the May bout because the "big talking" Wilder wants to now fight in July??

Besides the fact Wilder has a huge track record for talking bullsh1t they already have been ****ed over financially by the Fury's so they will need to try to cut their losses and find a suitable replacement for their NZ fight...

Duco have invested a lot of money into this fight and to suggest they walk away form it over a pipe dream is quite frankly pretty stupid to suggest..
