I was one of the first to point out that Wilder is a complete fraud:

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/lets-be-honest-wilder-is-flat-out-garbage.546779/

I thought that nearly ten years after I made this thread, it might be fun to visit some results according to boxrec, which has some strange anomalies, but which attempts to analyze careers mathematically. Here is how Wilder stacks up against those of his eras in all-time ratings:

    #8 Wladimir Kiltschko
    #13 Vitali Klitschko
    #17 Oleksandr Usyk
    #25 Anthony Joshua
    #32 Tyson Fury
    #35 Alexander Povetkin
    #75 Jospeh Parker
    #77 Daniel Dubois
    #78 Dillion Whyte
    #83 Deontay Wilder

At least he finishes ahead of Del Boy.
Wilder says that he intends to come back. Why?

Boxrec lists Wilder at #83 all-time at heavyweight.

It also lists Lawrence Okolie, who has had two fights at heavyweight, #84 all-time at heavyweight.

On Boxrec's all-time heavweight list, Okolie (and his two heavyweight fights) is ahead of ... #88 Mike Weaver, #100 Gerrie Coetzee, #101 Ike Ibeabuchi, #105 Ruslan Chagaev, #116 Jimmy Young, #125 George Chuvalo, #134 Hasim Rahman, #158 Pinklon Thomas, #173 Michael Moorer, #194 Tommy Morrison, #196 Ray Mercer, #198 Sultan Ibragimov, #203 Oleg Maskaev, #224 Frank Bruno, #226 Buster Douglas, #252 Joe Bugner, #253 Jim Jeffries, #288 Greg Page .. and Luis Ortiz at #345 (four spots below Big Boy Brown and his record of 14-22-2)

Why in thread after thread do you keep citing them? Their ratings suck.

    Deontay Wilder was:
    * WBC champion for five years (top 10 longest single reign all-time)
    * Made 10 successful consecutive heavyweight title defenses (top five all time)
    * Was ranked among the top 3 Ring contenders every month year in and year out for EIGHT STRAIGHT YEARS (Jan. 2015-December 2023)
    * Has one of the highest KO percentages among champs in heavyweight history
    * Went undefeated for 12 straight years
    * Was outweighed by everyone he fought for 12 years ... and still dominated nearly all.

He was one of the premiere heavyweights for a decade. He's a lock for the Hall of Fame.

The fact that Okolie and his two heavyweight fights put him on par on Boxrec's listing of all-time heavyweights ... and it puts Okolie ahead of other all-time Hall of Famers ... Makes Boxrec's ratings USELESS in setting any kind of all-time bar.

    Totally USELESS.

Wilder hasn't been champion in five years. Get over it already. Honestly.

How many Wilder threads are you going to start this week?

I was a fan of his, but I'm sick of reading about him.

There are plenty of new heavyweights to talk about.

Apparently his next fight is against Curtis Harper who has an 18-11 record. So no danger of him climbing up those Boxrec rankings lol.

He should fight Whyte or Joyce instead, good chance he gets the KO there and they’re both solid albeit washed names.

You can call him a fraud, in a sense he is, but he's not more of a fraud than AJ or Whyte or Joyce, other 'brands' that got busted.
And other characters like Parker have spent huge periods avoiding hard fights.
So has Zhang, who apparently decided he'd wait until his 40's to challenge.
It's just the 'culture' of these promoters and fighters to avoid dangerous fights.

But consider this when comparing Wilder to AJ. Wilder didn't dodge Fury like AJ and just fought Parker and Zhang in the period AJ was having 'rebuild fights'. Dubious was also not considered as dangerous as he is now WHEN AJ fought him, it was the victory over AJ that led to him now being a 'top fighter'. There's always a rewriting of AJ's bravery in hindsight, just like when he took on Usyk who was unproven at HW and thought to lack the power to be dangerous.

When has Parker ever avoided a tough opponent?

AJ signed to fight Fury in 2021, but it didn't happen because of Wilder. How is it dodging Fury?

And Dubois was a consensus Top 5 guy when he fought AJ.

Wilder obviously isn't great, but do you take boxrec rankings as Gospel?

Have you seen who is number 13 p4p?

He hasn't. Only fight he didn't take was the Hrgovic final eliminator but that was down to Hrgovic team trying to bully their way to ridiculous split.

    exactly this .

Wilder has 48 heavyweight fights .

We should wait until lets say usyk has 48 hw fights , defends his title 10 times and stays undefeated over 12 years on top of the division before we blame wilder to be a fraud !!!

Wilder has done a lot for the sport , he is now worn out and should retire .

The reason fury and AJ didn’t fight was wilders fault?

I wouldn't say "fault", cause I'm 100% for Wilder getting his third fight guaranteed in the contract. I'm just stating what happened - AJ and Fury signed for the fight (I think it w as a 2 fight deal) and then Wilder won the arbitration, so Fury had to face him and the fight fell through.
