They don't, this list is garbage.
You think Lebron is #2 and Fury is #39th most famous athlete in the World?
    LMAO

He has to be the most embarassing talker in the history of boxing. Starting to think Deontay has some serious mental health issues he just talks the biggest lot of cringe you’ve ever heard. Funny as hell at the same time though listening to him speak about himself like a high ranking mafia member!

He's not famous for talking, he's famous for punching. He's a fighter.

THE MOST FAMOUS FIGHTER IN THE WHOLE WORLD ... according to ESPN statisticians.

The KING of the sport. Only three spots, in terms of fame, behind the greatest Quarterback in NFL history.

Remember last year when they rated Wilder top ten pound for pound? Lol. Remember Stephen Smith covering boxing for them? Lol x2. Remember them interviewing Mayweather and not knowing who Henry Armstrong was? Lol x a million.

Every network that covers boxing in the U.S. is throwing tens of not hundreds of millions at Wilder this year and he was just named the most famous boxer in the world, and you post a link to Eddie Hearn doing a "bit" from last year?

"And the haters die a whimpering death."

    Wilder is the winner.

    Hands down.

    THE KING OF BOXING

Seems like Wilder, Fury, Joshua, Canelo, Golovkin and Pacquiao ARE the most famous active boxers in the world. I have no problem with that list.

Your hatred for Wilder has just made you so blind you can't face facts that the guy you've been making fun of for years is the most famous of them all.

    Sucks to be you.

I can't help it if they have had their heads buried for the last couple years. (LOL)

Wilder didn't exactly sneak up on anyone.

No other fighters is getting the financial offers from Showtime, ESPN and DAZN that Wilder is getting.

And he's still free to negotiate a Joshua or Fury fight on another platform if they pay him what he's worth as the MOST FAMOUS BOXER IN THE WORLD!!!!!

He didn't turn down $100+ million. He's just going to accept $100+ million from another channel.

Not according to ESPN. It's Wilder, Fury, Joshua, Canelo, Golovkin and Pacquio ... in that order.

I believe ESPN. I think a guy named "GGGfans" might have an agenda. (LOL)
