Deontay Wilder Falls Back Into 1973 while being in a deep sleep.

Wilder resumes his deep sleep, shortly after signing.

I can see little reason to place a bet on Wilder to win this; unless one thoroughly enjoys losing their money.

 

Well before we determine what kind of fight this WOULD be, let’s first determine what kind of fight it WOULDN’T be.
- it wouldn’t be a technical affair
- it wouldn’t involve great defense on either side
- it wouldn’t be a demonstration of great speed
- it wouldn’t likely be a late round fight

so now let’s look at what we’ve got

- all time great punching power in both corners
- better than average chins on both sides
- neither had great stamina but I think wilders was better
- foreman had the better two fisted attack while wilder MIGHT have had the better right hand
- George had a better jab. Wilder had more height and reach
- Both had tremendous heart but 70’s George was occasionally weak in the head.

Conclusion: This is a tossup for me. George was more dangerous than wilder early on so If he’s gonna win then he needs to do it in under 7 or 8 rounds. The longer the fight goes the more George Tires and the more opportunities wilder has to let loose that right hand.

 

When he wakes up in 1973, every dollar he has in the bank is more than 500% more valuable in that time so he’d probably retire and be hanging out with Rockefellers and yachting with Aristotle Onassis.

The biggest stressor for Deontay might be the lack of high tech, heavy as a sack of sh*t, costumes to wear into the ring back in 1973.

Ala Rocky, maybe Joe Frazier could at least give Wilder his bright green trunks from the FOTC. EDIT: “Lend” Wilder his trunks and I assume Joe will want them washed before they are returned….or at least I hope so.

I can just see now, Joe and Deontay, smiling gleefully, running side by side along the beach, only to then hit the water, joyfully embrace and spin one another around and around.

George, especially in that era, wasn't used to being the shorter man. I think Wilder's height and reach might throw him off. The fight probably ends up a sloppy mess with them trading KD's at various times.

 

It could very well be a slugfest like the Foreman vs Lyle fight.

Wilder would probably rock the crap out of George early on, but George was too damn good to let it go on longer than the 3rd round...if that.

Wilder would have to magically transform into 2000 Lennox Lewis to beat George.

 

You realize both men who beat him were shorter than him right?

Foreman faced a fair few guys taller than him like Wepner, Wilson, and O'holloran whom he demolished with ease even though he was green against literally all of them.
